How does Philbin in compare to Callahan?

Looking at his time line he may have been the oline coach that taught the outside the shoulder technique so well. Instead of punching to the center of the chest many of his linemen would slap and hold the outside of the shoulders making it very difficult for Dlinemen to do anything aside from bullrush. Its basically been GB get out of jail free card to hold everyone without drawing a penalty.

Maybe we can learn the " hold but never get called for it" blocking technique of GB which gave Rodgers eternity to scan the field....

Most of my family are packers fans and they swear this guy is an amazing OC. He was the OC in GB from 07-11 gb was fire on offense those years.

Remember the pass blocking folks of GB? That’s why we lost against a one legged Rogers. Very stoked. Columbo wasn’t good enough yet.

I thought the guy who was the better OL coach was James Campen, not Philbin. He was only the OL coach for one season in 2006.

The Fassel and Tomsula hires were A's for me. This is more of a C feeling to me. I just don't see the track record as a pro OL coach (more college). He's been all over the place from OC to HC to TEs, etc.

anyone who takes issue with any of the old staff being let go forgets they stated Jerry should butt out and let the new HC make all the coach decsions.. now that hes done this, its an issue?

I like it let him live or die his own way..

btw with this oline I mean you would have to be horrible to fail goes the same with RBs and Wrs , it has 3 perennial PBs a long with pretty good depth given Looney and Xavier has done well plus options at LG with McGovern ..the offensive coaches have plenty of toys to play with..

its the defensive coaches and particularly the ST coach that have a lot of work to do..

Colombo is an excellent coach.

Our OL is the strongest unit in the NFL.

So much for doing your job and being loyal.

Looks like our new HC is hiring all of his old buddies.
