Jerrys biggest failing was not having the guts to fire Jason.. I think Jerry knew that Jason wasn't up to the task a while ago.. if you look at what happened it was farcical really.. took playcalling off him.. hired the assistants.. dealt directly with players.

Yes that could be Jerry being a nuisance (and I hope he has learnt) but it also shows that whilst he really wanted JG to become 'the man'.. he was recognising that Garrett was not up to the task.

Shame it got to the point it did really.. it has been clear for a while that the players did not respect Garrett or his teachings/playbook or overall philosophy.

" jerry told me not to listen "

Jerry will hold back McCarthy as well
Yeah that’s what I’m coming to say. People think this type of behavior will change? It’s gonna be the same exact thing like it is with every coach he hires. People are excited like this is gonna change. This should worry fans.

this isnt pre-school-college these are millionaire adult men with locked down contracts and they dont have much to fear..

it sure didnt seem like around the league guys like AB Bell Ben etc feared Tomlinson , TO he did his own thing. hundreds of stars around the league do not fear..they dont have much that can be taken away, they are the best the team has so they will get back on the filed etc

Now respect amongst other things are important to keep players attention

but like I sated this isnt the league where players fear getting benched or demoted or worse kicked off the team.. that was gone once they signed their big deals..

lots of locker rooms on struggling teams you hear the coach lost his players..its not just garett..

these attempts to somehow think the players all of a sudden fall in line now that hes gone is unrealistic.. its this simple MM will have the players attention to teach them his systems and get it going but bet your bottom dollar that 3 years from now if this doesnt go anywhere and this will start all over a again.

losing breeds negativity and its happens in all places..

facts, nor did they respect him as a great football coach.. They might of loved him as a son would love their dad, but they didn't fear and respect him as a great football mind and coach....
Look at Jimmy Johnson, he wasn't loved like a dad by anyone but he was feared and respected as a great football coach and disciplinarian.
Bullspit lmao

Name me one superstar on the team that feared Jimmy? you ever hear of the white house? all those rumors of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.. who got benched and suspended? when Haley threw a fit or was hazing players did he get benched? who did Haley fear? I dont remember one instance where a player who was a front line starter who got suspended benched or rally fined anything more then a slap on the wrist..

you mean the rookies, Fas, and players on the fringe feared being cut or fined?that on all teams..

its the same with BillP his teams were flawed and highly penalized from what I remember...

I get the point being made but fear of discipline for grown adult star millionaire sports player is not a thing.. they wont be cut , lose money , or be sat because of the salary cap and teams play to win..its seldom one losing playing time on any team..

yes Garett in some ways at some point may have been tuned out because like all teams that start losing that is what happens..look at the drama between MM and Rogers etc those teams were losing then all that came out..

Who was the player? Most likely was one that got put to the curb. You people that are trying to peddle this idea that Garrett wasn't respected by the players are pathetic. He's gone so just leave it alone. You got what you wanted, you won so stop kicking a dead horse.

This is the offseason drama that I thrive in. Just what I was looking for.

Told you guys before that this locker room was in shambles for various reasons. No fear, no accountability, no fear of punishment for lack of effort etc.
So... this is what you enjoy.

Both Styles work, Gibbs never cursed or raised his voice, he won 3 superbowls, Dungy was as soft as cotton and won,
I appreciate how consistently you are a coach apologist.
You must be a coach on some level.

I don't care if they feared him. They needed to respect him and based on his performance across ten years (winning record), I tend to believe that they did.

Even knowing the nature of this team, I don’t believe for a second that there was a text that said “*** off Jerry said I don’t have to listen”. Or that she saw that lol. That’s such sensationalistic nonsense, no one even talks like that. Even if you’ve ever been empowered, by another boss, a parent or whatever no one says that, they just blow you off

Let me put it to you like this without getting too much into it. Those star players like Troy and Irvin might of ended up like Jaylon or Dlaw had they endured the freckled puppets coaching techniques or lack thereof.
A good example is I knew I could push my mother to the limit when I was a kid and I did, I would have her so in a tissy she would chase me around the house with a fireplace poker. She didn't deserve it
but I didn't know when to quit because she allowed it, however I wouldn't even look cross-ways at my father or he would whip my *** with a fishing pole.

garret= my mother (so I acted out)
jimmy johnson= my dad (so I was an angel around him)

Heres the truth. Young men actually WANT to be led. This is true in the military, in business, and yes in sports as well. Thing is,.... they want to be led by someone who actually KNOWS what they are doing and how to lead. Young or not..... you can always sniff out the pretenders and sadly for us thats exactly what Garrett was.
