You don't think Rodgers and Manning made it off the field as well?

It is as much about the almighty ego as money. If SF beats GB, after already beating Wilson and his 35M and Cousins and his 28M, and Rodgers 30M, think Garoppolo's 27.5M is going to fly? They will extend him and get him up there with the rest and the Cowboys could really screw it up by giving their QB, that's done nothing in the playoffs, a deal as big or bigger than Wilson's tops at 35M.
Good sir my point was about Dak is definitely making money off the field like Tb was. Your opening question really does nothing to dispute my point that I posted to the other poster about. I can go with the ego thinking but the poster I quoted mentioned money off the field so that's why I mentioned what Dak makes off the field. I've done what you did many times so I'm not innocent of this but we all have to keep up when entering in the middle of a discussion.

The scared people's favorite line acting like we don't have a draft and or FA to get a QB not named Cooper Rush to be our starting QB smh. Don't know how people are so flipping scary.
A draft is far from certain, especially picking at #18. There are a lot more Blaine Gabbert level players that get drafted than Pat Mahomes level players.

One good reason is this team's history with QB's, they're the poster child for "rather be lucky than good".
How many of these teams qb's were top picks sir? You're telling me about the discount depot guys they brought in but when they start drafting 1st rd bust like they were bringing in them other rounds I think you'll have a point. I'm talking about getting a 1st rd talent and recently they've been pretty good at that outside of two pics.

The team always comes first for me over any player, not just Dak. I like Dak, but his being on the team should only happen as long as it's what's best for the team.

But this isn't within the realm of my comment, which talked about what would happen if they actually let Dak test his true market value. If they did that there would be no tag of any kind, and therefor no draft picks.

If we want to hit him with the non-exclusive tag, maybe that's a good way to go, but lets not call it a true test of market value.
I highly doubt they tag him.

Seems to be the way things operate around here. Herds of sheep. Once you turn from the norm, you’re hated on and called a troll, so the probability of me saying yes to this question is indeed high.

unfortunately this is spot on.

DakPresgoat is solid people, he's a rational guy you can have a discussion with.
but the overwhelming majority of Dak Backers will call you a hater, troll, idiot, and worse if you aren't fully on board.

The only option is to go nuclear in such situations. They don't want rational and logical debate.
they want you to fall in line and if you don't then they will circle the wagons and try to bully you into submission.

I never claimed it was certain drafting any player. I am saying Dak isn't keeping me from trying. If we fail we fail but I think Dak is about maxed out skills wise. Maybe we can trade up but I don't know how the draft picks points works.

I would tag him and see how he does under McCarthy’s system. Still on the fence on signing this guy long term, even though Jerry and Stephen think differently.

Dak just came off his best season statistically. I hated the offense though. Too all over the place for me. I’m excited to finally see a new coach and see what happens. I yearned for this offense for Romo for years and now we get to see it.

It’s a pretty big hit though if we try and fail though. Could set the team back

I'd like to see us go get Tua.. Visions of Steve Young.

I would like ice water in hell too. Dak is our QB. No way in hell JJ and SJ let him go. Unless Mike says he can’t play.

In the Jamarcus Russell days yeah but not anymore. Arizona couldn't have done what they did this year about 15 years ago drafting two top 10 qb's in back to back draft with how those players were getting paid. I think Dak sets the team back so personally it won't be that much worse but the record. He still suffers a lot from the same problems in his scouting report that got hims rated in the fourth rd. I'm not saying he's garbage but he's Alex Smith jr and if we can trade up or stay where we're at to get blue chip prospect I'm all for it. If we fail ok but for the most part you can't do anything major without failing some.

If Tua falls to around 10. I would do it.

Go watch the Jacob Eason guy if you get a chance. His arm talent is absolutely incredible and it wouldn't surprise me if he shoots up draft boards and possibly past Tua if Tua doesn't work out all offseason.

I feel I am both. I'm sorry I don't have any major issue with Dak, I have watched him continue to develop and improve in his play. I feel this team can win with him under center and those who feel different not much I can say to change their minds nor do I really care about changing minds. In all the years of being a Cowboy fan the one thing I am certain of is until or unless you win a SB as QB you will come under fire by many of the fans. They say the game of football has changed yet fans do not and have witnessed 1st hand be it Meredith, Morton or Romo and Dak. People want a championship and until the QB and the team win it all their will be those who will blame the QB.

I can tell you being a die hard fan since 1965 through today there is no question about being a Cowboys fan.

if any of the top QBs fall to 10 you make a move. Of course I'm speaking with no knowledge of any of the QBs coming out. To answer the question though I'm a Cowboys fan and this is why I suggest we need to move on from #4. I've been told a few times, and it's sad really, to root for another team simply because I'm not a #4 fan. It's ok literally hate on any other coach or player, but you better find a new team if #4 is not your #1!
