With the Raiders, Tyrone Wheatley and LaMont Jordan recorded career highs in rushing yards with 1,046 in 2000 and 1,025 in 2005, respectively. During the 2002 Raiders season, Peete coached running back Charlie Garner to 962 yards rushing yards on 182 attempts to go along with 941 yards receiving on 91 catches. In 2007, his first year with the Cowboys, Peete helped Marion Barber make his first career Pro Bowl after rushing for career-highs in rushing yards (975) and touchdowns (10). Two years later, Peete guided the Cowboys running game to a franchise-record 4.8 yards per carry. He was subsequently hired by the Bears, reuniting him with former Raiders offensive coordinator and then-current Bears head coach Marc Trestman.[2] Peete joined the Rams' coaching staff in 2016.

He was with the Rams the past 4 seasons and we all know the running attack the Rams unleashed against Dallas in the playoffs.

Was hoping for Drayton. Guess Jerry isn’t willing to spend what it takes.

Really liked Gary Brown. Thought he did an excellent job with Ezekiel Elliott (2016 - 2020) and Tony Pollard (2020), so I'm surprised he has been let go and replaced with Skip Peete who did ok in the past. I wonder how Zeke and Tony will feel about getting a new RBs coach and seeing Brown let go?

Brown, Drayton, Peete, how much does anyone really know how they fit in with MM and his coaching style, schemes and such.
So will just have to go with this and see what happens.

Not thrilled but will support it. At least Brown is out for sure now.

I have no problem at all with this selection. In fact his experience and resume suggest
he should be a solid hire.
No doubt Drayton and Cowboys just could not come to an agreement.
I began to think it won't be a possibility of Drayton, the longer we did not hear immediate reports.

Skip Peete has a well-regarded reputation and resume with working and developing RBs.
He's a vet coach with considerable NFL experience and working with heralded names.

If he was the Rams' RB coach and the way we saw how they work in their RBs in that McVey attack, I am well satisfied with the hiring.
I don't understand what Cowboys fans are expecting and rooting for in some of these hires.
Zeke and he should be fine together. I had some doubts regarding Gary Brown.
