Looking at this, you would think it's pretty easy to project Dak's average payout.......it won't be more than Wilson ( Dak words ). Also, remember Stephen offered top ( my guess $32M )

BTW.....the $40M that's out there, I don't believe that for a second.

Bottom line, I'm not sure they're that far apart on the numbers.........

How much do each of them earn with endorsements? Dak gets around $7M/year from endorsements according to rumor. And those endorsements are only because he is the Cowboys' QB. If Dak goes elsewhere, those endorsements do not follow.

If Dak signed for $28M/year it would really be around $35M/year with the built-in endorsements that come along with being QB of the Cowboys.
Also, taxes are lower in Dallas and the power of a dollar is higher in Dallas than LA, Seattle, and Philly. In Pgh the taxes are some of the highest in the country and the city plain blows chunks. Living in GB would absolutely suck. One has to factor in what your money can buy when choosing a city.

It is all about take-home pay and quality of life in the city where you work and your work atmosphere. Dallas is pretty much near the top in all the things that matter most.

Those guys have all made it to the conference championship game although Wentz did on the back of Foles. Dak has not made it pass the divisional game. Split the difference between Goff and Wentz and their is your salary. I think it is the length of the contract that is the hold up.

Yes because dak coaches, plays defense, and plays special teams. he also kicks fgs and punts.

Almost everything you said here is true and it'll play almost no part in contract negotiations.

If he has a good agent who is interested in what is best for Dak in the long term, then it will be a huge factor in the negotiations. Jerry and Stephen are telling Dak the same stuff.

Russell Wilson is the only real benchmark IMO. Rodgers' deal was backloaded and in reality was a 4/100 contract structured for longer to spread out the cap hits. Big Ben was really 2 years for 38MM guaranteed. Goff was clearly overpaid and the contract for Wentz is backloaded with a lot of money built into roster bonuses to protect the team.

Everybody on this board should pay attention to who Dak's agent is. Dak's agent is Todd France of Creative Artists. That dude plays hard ball 24x7 and he's all about getting paid. His clients get top dollar or they sit out. It's seriously a thing for him. He negotiates record deals and then he uses that to sell his firm and get more clients. I don't believe for a second that the 40 is an unrealistic demand from Dak's camp. I believe it's all about a number just like that and a 4 or 5 year deal so that they can be back at the table in 3 years, after the CBA is signed and Mahomboy has done his deal.

All of you guys need to pay attention to wht France does and how he does it. It's a serious factor in these negotiations IMO.

Hes already been offered between 32 and 35 its the years that were a concern and I think thats what will end up happening even though his agent likes to play hardball in the end i think civility will take hold

If you look at recent history like the Dez contract and Zeke contract, Dallas will match the benchmark rate but not go over it. The benchmark for Zeke was Gurley and the total dollars were higher but it was mostly backloaded and had a small signing bonus. So Dallas got a better deal but Zeke got to say he was the top paid RB.

First off Prescott already turned down the Cowboys 32 mil a year offer. Where as I've never believed that there is any chance of the 40 mil a year mark, I do think it will end up around 35 mil a year.due to the fact that salaries go up every year and contracts signed in previous years shows that.

Second, players agents from allow endorsements in the negotiating of contracts. As far as if in some fairy tale case that Prescott manages to get out of Dallas, that would be huge news and that alone would help get and keep endorsement deals.

Third Jerry and Stephen aren't going to let Prescott leave Dallas since both have said signing him to a long term contract is their top priority.

A good reason for the transition tag!

I think Prescott knows that sitting out will really hurt his career because he knows he still needs improvement to get to the top tier QBs and I also believe that France knows this is what Prescott knows. France will try to do his bluff and insist that there could be a sit out but before that happens Prescott will either tell him he's taking the Cowboys offer and/or fire France thinking he's not really helping Prescott maximize his career goals and earning power only trying to maximize France's earnings.
