IMO, Garrett wasn’t a great HC, but pretty good as an OC. If they make a good defense, the Giants will be a threat.

He would abandon the run so quickly..he was never good in big spots as a play caller and his schemes became old and outdated -vanilla stuff that eventually was shut down. He was stripped as play caller for a reason.

None of us REALLY know all the details of the inner workings of the Cowboys’ power structure. What most agree on as probably factual is the fact that meddling Jerry wants what he wants. Most are also fairly certain that Dallas had a top ten offense every year Garrett carried the title “Head Coach”. While most of us welcome a change, the faction that insists he did nothing but clap and spit sounds kinda stupid.

Not as "stupid" as those that try to falsely claim that Garrett's offense were better than they actually were.

It’s not embarrassing at all. You’re frustrated I don’t agree with a sports message board mob. Who cares about that?!?

It’s not frustration. You just ignore facts and flaunt it. In my history here I’ve eaten crow, moved along etc. On Garrett your fascination despite last season and the stats have made it where “stubborn” is an excuse instead of willful disregard for the facts. Can’t debate that so I’ll move along

I don't believe Garrett undermined Wade. The head coach is evaluated for wins and losses and advancing the team into the post season more often than not. Overall Garrett was a good head coach but not a great one. The best teams have great players and great coaching and have a better chance to advance into the post season multiple times.

It's not uncommon for an offensive or defensive coordinator to replace a head coach. So did Kellen Moore undermine Garrett or was it Marinelli and Kris Richard colluding together? Wasn't the opposition a factor in handling us losses back in Wade's head coaching days and just like in this era?
You are welcome to believe whatever fantasy you have convinced yourself to believe. The facts are clear, Jason Garrett is a manipulative ladder climber that only cares about getting himself to the top of the ladder and hanging on there as long as he can no matter who he has to hurt to get there. He did it in Dallas and now he will do it in NY. If you don't believe this to be true then make your own observations of how this works out in NY over the next few seasons.

I never ignore facts. I so rarely encounter them on this topic, when I do I sit down and appreciate them. I do ignore emotional discharge, though, which so often gets confused with “fact.” Out exchange here is pretty good evidence of that.

Feel free to move along, though, because we agree that you can’t debate it.

I posted data which you ignored. You can spin it. But it's data..fact..over a 5 year period. But you keep trucking with your head in the sand.

BTW, when I lived in Houston I used to check in on the Texans board. Hated the team but there were some good people. I lived there and the fans were crazy. There was a poster Hulk75, that used to literally fight anyone who criticized David Carr. It was nuts. Couldn't rationalize with this poster. Come to find out after some years that it was actually Derek Carr coming to his brothers defense. I actually went to law school with a Garrett...his cousin..great girl.. and I've seen her posting on FB how she's a Giants fan now and went through her family history with the Browns, Giants, Dallas. Just saying, I wouldn't be surprised if you were in this category.

I did go back and check just now. I missed one of your replies. Forgive me. I get a lot of replies on this topic and I missed one. You’re a reasonable poster, generally and I didn’t ignore it at all.

It was a quote from Warren Sharp, who runs a sports analytics LLC. He’s not a coach or a player or an insider.

His tweet itself was based on the assumption that performance following half time deficits was a surrogate measure of how NFL teams adjust. It’s a faulty assumption as teams adjust in real-time within series at this point and not with halftime speeches like they did in old movies and in high school.

The other issue with the tweet is that it was based on counts, and not rates. Was Dallas behind at halftime and yet failed to win the same amount of times as other teams? Who knows? We do know we’ve won more games than any other NFC team besides the Saints in about that same window. We do know he chose a window that included the 2015 season, when let’s face it, we weren’t coming back from any halftime deficits.

In short: I’d asked you for examples of people who know what they’re talking about. If this is your example, yeah, I feel comfortable putting it in that same dumpster category. It’s someone looking at a list and pointing out an area where Dallas ranks poorly whether it’s indicative of anything or not in order to get some attention.

All true. Also true, that the offense was pretty good while he was here, and despite the welcome change at HC, Garrett did more than just clap and spit. Also, the Giants have some weapons. Can’t assume they won’t be a threat.

Your 'hero's' legacy:

Four seconds left at your own 30...

But worse than that call was Garrett ducking the press for a few days while Wade took the bullet for him (which he did). That was when I started realizing how low-character Garrett was -- despite our local press proclaiming him one of the greatest human beings anywhere.

The good news is when Barkley runs the ball like a Ninja and it's productive, Garrett will switch to passing in the shotgun all game long.

Guaranteed wins? Hard to fathom a Cowboy fan feeling that confident in wins. But aye.....I guess McCarthy and Jerry got the hype train rolling.
Wonder what will happen if it goes the other way, poor Jerry the melt down will be epic.

This would break Jerry’s heart if he goes on to have success next season lol. Especially if they beat us lol.

This site will crash if that happens. :muttley:
