I figured.

I’m not responsible for arguments I didn’t make. And you’re not significant enough for me to bother engaging otherwise.

The offer stands if you’re able to find a post/thread you want me to address, though.

Why should I spend an hour digging up and rereading your pathetic posts defending your hero? Everyone knows your reputation here and will never believe you.

Redball wont have success in NY, if Im wrong, I give the Mods full permission to ban my ignorant ###.
JG should actually never be allowed to coach for any team, in any facet.. its really bad for the league.
Its great that Garrett is the Giants OC, its great for Cowboys, Eagles and Commanders.
you could wind up banned then lol.
JG is not as bad as some make him out to be as far as being OC.
I also think Jones is the type of QB that fits JG , much more than dak or romo did.
He has barkley, and appreciates the run way more than he did back when he was OC.

This coming season, will be fun, and JG at nyg makes it more fun.
I wanted JG gone, but is it possible the giants beat us 1 game? yes it is.
JG knows a lot about our players, and all that info will go to the giants HC and DC,
count on it.

Plenty of people are trying to.

Name one poster. All I’ve seen is people listing stats, and/or suggesting there was actually more there than some doofus whose only function was applauding failure. Most of us are in agreement that Garrett was an average HC at best, and a change was needed, but why must it always be extreme? Why must it always be either total condemnation or blind, loving support? Isn’t there a middle ground anymore?

Who says all he does is clap? That's your foolish notion. And who said his ascendance to the top of the Giant's power ladder would be spurred by a lack of success. You need to stop reading into what other people write and understand what was actually conveyed. He can manipulate his way to the top without hurting the team's success. All he has to do is hurt the credibility of HC, Judge.

Because some won’t let go of the clapping. People have actually said he did NOTHING but applaud failure. Besides, it all boils down to perspective. Person “A”’s methods are labeled as dedication, picking your spots, being smart and proactive, etc. Person “B” does the same thing and is called a manipulator

Go to page 5 of this thread, There's a poster there mistakenly claiming that Garrett always had a top 10 offense when he was calling the plays. Patently false.

Because you explicitly cited an argument I’ve never made.

My posts have been right on on this topic. It’s your intentional mischaracterization that has been pathetic. And you mischaracterize because it’s the only way you can pretend to hang in a discussion. It’s childish.

I did go back and check just now. I missed one of your replies. Forgive me. I get a lot of replies on this topic and I missed one. You’re a reasonable poster, generally and I didn’t ignore it at all.

It was a quote from Warren Sharp, who runs a sports analytics LLC. He’s not a coach or a player or an insider.

His tweet itself was based on the assumption that performance following half time deficits was a surrogate measure of how NFL teams adjust. It’s a faulty assumption as teams adjust in real-time within series at this point and not with halftime speeches like they did in old movies and in high school.

The other issue with the tweet is that it was based on counts, and not rates. Was Dallas behind at halftime and yet failed to win the same amount of times as other teams? Who knows? We do know we’ve won more games than any other NFC team besides the Saints in about that same window. We do know he chose a window that included the 2015 season, when let’s face it, we weren’t coming back from any halftime deficits.

In short: I’d asked you for examples of people who know what they’re talking about. If this is your example, yeah, I feel comfortable putting it in that same dumpster category. It’s someone looking at a list and pointing out an area where Dallas ranks poorly whether it’s indicative of anything or not in order to get some attention.

Here is my deal Idgit and I'll let it lie. It's a message board of course. I respect you. We've had this talk. I have found you to be reasonable also over time. And it is because of that, that I get confused on your Garrett talk. Over the years I've admitted when JG had good years. I've eaten crow, as stated, when needed. Overall, we are Cowboy fans so it's not that big of a deal to move on and hope we win. I consider myself "pliable" where I can change stances with good arguments. But on your end, this has never happened regarding JG. Over 10 years a lot went wrong. He was part of the reason. I get that you think Jerry is our biggest issue. You are right on that to some extent. I get that. But with on the field coaching, where Jerry isn't making calls, there were still consistent issues over the years. So I guess my question is...do you see those? Do you just think he could have been great but was done wrong? Like the stats I threw out...you may be able to say they don't prove in game adjustments...but they still show a disturbing inconsistency over 5 years regarding being behind and what we were able to do. We don't have to agree but just explain your unbending stance on it and I'll leave it be!

Sure I see them. To be fair, I post on this topic a lot, and get round-robinned by a lot of posters on a lot of variations of this topic. He’s blown specific games because of coaching mistakes. The Cardinals game where everyone said he iced the kicker and he didn’t but he absolutely blew the time management. The Packers game the season where Callahan was falling the plays where they blew the halftime lead when the two MLBs went out is another example. And there are countless examples where he made tough 50/50 calls that didn’t work out. Fans will lambast the HC for that no matter what. It comes with the dinner.

I think Garrett was too conservative most of the time. I’m not a huge fan of his scheme. He didn’t stand up to Jerry enough re his staff, and I think that hurt him in certain seasons. I’ve said all of this multiple times before in other threads. I’ve never said he’s a “great” coach, either. I think he’s been a good coach, and that he was a great fit for this team given the owner and the spotlight that comes with this job.

I’ve also said he didn’t deserve an extension if he didn’t get the 2019 team into the post season to make a run. None of that is new, though if you listen to how my position gets purposely mischaracterized, it’ll seem like it’s all new.

I just hate to see anybody villainized unfairly. And I don’t like pretending the issue is one thing when I know damn well it’s another. Pretending Coach Blart is going to get this organization over the top is an example of that. I don’t hate McCarthy. I actually kinda like him. But I don’t think we’re being serious about addressing the team’s liabilities. The issue hasn’t been coaching. It’s organizational.

Awesome! Sorry if I don’t see some of those posts. I can be sketchy on time here where I waste a week posting then disappear! I agree with almost all of this! Honestly, like I said in an earlier post, I went to school with a Garrett. I see her and her family with him on the field pregame in posts. They are all close. I know he was a good guy. I almost felt bad disliking him being coach. But I just thought we were wasting years and talent and that’s on Jerry for not seeing it. I thought he did some things post Wade that were positive but that changed over time. Thanks for this. Appreciate it. I have hope for McCarthy but it’s more I hope we have one coach who can win one more before they get worn down in the system.

You and I have been through this one before think. We’re not all that far apart on the Garrett spectrum. I like him more than you, and more than most. Mostly, it just pisses me off that he gets blamed for a ton of stuff that has nothing to do with him. I don’t actually usually respond to critical posts about him that I think are fair or at least reasonable, though. But I dig in hard on the ones I think are stupid or really unfair.

Anyway, cheers. Enjoy the games today.

People say all kinds of crazy things. I've never been one to promote the crazy things other people say. I speak for myself and I say Garrett does much more that clap. He is a manipulator. The problem with being a manipulator is it grows old and your bosses eventually expect results. When you can't deliver, you get let go. It will all play out again in NY just as it did in Dallas.
