Romo doesn't hold a candle to Mahomes, Wilson or Rodgers. Who the heck watches Mahomes and thinks of Romo in any way?
Actually, many do. He was compared to Romo all through high school and college. He was told this all the time, and he is flattered by it. He even agrees with it.

I would provide a link, but it's from a certain local website we're not allowed to link here.

Just google Romo comparison to Mahomes and click on the local Dallas newspaper link.

The worst GM in the NFL thought he had found lighting in a bottle with 4th round comp pick (Dak) and did away with his PROVEN Franchise QB.
Welcome to GM Jerry 101 where losing and ineptness is our cornerstone for 25 years and counting!!!!

I was a little surprised Jerry allow Tony to be cast aside with such quickness and ease. He's usually more loyal to his guys than that. Do you remember Tony's final drive? Marched HIS team right down the full length of field for an effortless TD.

I would like the complete story of how this all transpired. I doubt we will get it because Romo, Garrett and Jones don’t discuss it.

You don't need to post the link. People that aren't idiots know exactly what Sherman was talking about. I distinctly recall We were in the game BECAUSE of Tony and his unique abilities...not in spite of him or accidentally. He had to go back out time and time again because of our "bend and break" defense. Only a matter of time before the odds or final desperation bit back.

Didn't say he didn't have opportunity. In 2007, the OL couldn't block the giants DL. In 2014, he got robbed on Dez's infamous non-catch. If he had won one those games or just made a super bowl appearance, he has a strong case for the HOF.
You said he was on teams that never could make a deeper run. I’d argue the 07 and 14 team had potential and opportunity to do so.

Two reasons:

1. As much as many of us wanted Romo to have a chance to lead that team with Zeke, we know the likelihood of avoiding injury was probably about 20 percent.

2. Dak jerseys were flying off the shelves. Jerry loves that.

Romo’s style was also compared to Favre. It didn’t mean he was as great of QB just had some similarities in their styles.

I thought Sherman’s comment was accurate. The Romo haters and Slobbering Dak fans are just puckering up their buttholes. Same ole crap on social media. I’d ignore it.

I put the loss of that '07 team squarely on Patrick Crayton. I hope for his sake he got paid money for stopping on his routes.

Yep

Public opinion was more favorable for Jerry to lose in playoffs with Dak than take a chance with Romo losing which he would have been more bashed for.

Just another example how this ownership wearing both hats is a conflict of interest for Cowboys Football.

He mentioned Romo last. That may be Sherman talking about Tony turning it over in big moments and trying to put that in Mahomes head.

I certainly don’t blame Romo although he did have some opportunities. But the bigger point was Romo did have a couple of teams potentially enough to go deeper in playoffs.

Sure, negative amounts or deficits. In accounting we deal with less than nothing all the time. Lol
In accounting yes, but we were talking about comparing football players. You can't get any further away than no comparison,

I disagree with #1 fully and completely. Tony's "problem".....he always either PLAYED through injury....in other words constantly injured...or came back too soon. That was the first time in many years Tony had a chance to fully heal and rest. The team could have used his leadership and experience. I know....he had an injury history and I won;t overly lament...but the "he would have been injured anyway" is simply pure speculation and a terrible reason to ditch your HEALTHY vet QB.

#2...probably right, haha.

You guys can’t resist mentioning Dak even when it’s a thread about Romo.

I wonder what attributes he’s referring to in regards to Romo. Good to see Romo getting some praise post NFL career.
Except some people cant take jokes...it was funny, but you found yourself taking it serious.

We deal with negative plays and stats.

And we’ve definitely had some players I’d describe as negative talent. Lol
So, you are saying Dak's stats were in the negative? I don't think I've ever seen a QB that finished with negative yardage and TD totals. I guess I missed that Dak was the first.

The idea of negative talent is just words, not a reality. You can't make it to the NFL with no talent, much less negative talent, and realistically a person cannot have less talent than no talent.
