If I were putting the ones you listed into categories... it would probably be like this.

But, then I would need to know the cost for each.

Elite:
Drew Bress
Tom Brady (Although he has maybe 1 or 2 more years left in him. Still impressive to say that, at his age.)

Great:
Philip Rivers (Big arm, but goes through spells of crap play, and incredible play)

Very Good:
Teddy Bridewater (Very good under the right circumstances, and if his leg holds out)

Never know what you will get:
Jamois Winston

Average:
Marcus Mariota (Good, Average, Below Average... never know)
Dak Prescott (Can't perform against top defenses, and winning teams. If Drew Brees can sign a 2 year $50mil contract, no way in hell am I paying Dak $35-$40mil+ per year. That is extremely laughable)
Ryan Tannahill (Better than he was in Miami, but you will never rely on his arm to pull you out of a jam)

Below Average:
Case Keenam (Guy is nothing special, 1 hit wonder)

Never played enough to know:
Cooper Rush

Brady is not close to elite any more.

Bridgewater is far from very very good.

Bridgewater is far from very very good.

I still think Brady is still capable, because of his experience. That can still bale him out if he has some descent players around him.
So, maybe I could rephrase that to elite experience, if not elite ability at 42.

Teddy, I still think is very good... if the clause I put in is met. He never plays long enough to get comfortable, and in a groove since the leg injury.
When I have watched him, he seems intelligent with the football.

OK on Brady.

Teddy is a bus driver. Capable bus driver, yes, but he lacks the play making ability to call him very very good. Kinda like Alex Smith or Andy Dalton, can move the ball and such, but really just doesn't make enough plays.

Dak Prescott

Drew Bress

Tom Brady

Jamois Winston

Philip Rivers

Marcus Mariota

Ryan Tannahill

Teddy Bridewater

Case Keenam

Cooper Rush

Or add a name you think is possible.

Interested who is in your thoughts at this point.

Brady and Brees have 2 year windows tops. Pass. Winston is a meat head. Pass. Rivers is finished. Pass. Mariota let RT take his job. Pass. RT will be 33 and has never been great. Pass. Teddy? Really? Pass. Keenam is a really good backup. Pass. Rush shouldn’t even be in the NFL. Pass.

Dak is the QB. Period. Anyone who disagrees is just wrong.

@zerofill. No way can you have Teddy in the Very Good category and then Dak in the average one, unless you have a homer opinion of Bridgewater and a preset opinion on Dak.

Bridgewater had two good games last year. The rest of the games he was a bus driver this past year. Even in Minn he was the clear #2 behind Peterson for that offense, aka a bus driver.

His defense/ST gave him 14 points early vs Seattle. And then he just had to control the bus.

Vs the Bears, Chicago's offense didn't crack 100 yards of offense till the 4th. Think Chicago eclipsed 100 yards vs the Cowboys on their second possession lol.

If you can't tell which of these is the better option you need your skull x-rayed to find the problem.

The top one is Bridgewater, the bottom one is Dak.

I think it becomes a big question mark when you enter the amount of money he wants. I think the Titans are in an identical spot with Tannehill. I wonder if Cowboy fans think Tannehill deserves 35 mil or even 32 mil. I sure as heck dont think Tannehill is worth that. But I do think Tannehill is a product of having a good team around him just like Dak.

Dak is the best option. PAY THE MAN. I say, sign him to a 7 year back loaded deal to save some cap now, for about 35 mil per. Draft a QB in the mid rounds. We need to develop someone better behind him in case he gets hurt, and also, sign a vet like Colt McCoy if hes avail.. Say goodbye to Cooper Rush. Its a failed experiment.

FTR: I think Luck is a little overrated. But with better players around him, I might find out he isn't.

People forget when Jerry and Stephen come out and make statements like our #1 priority is to sign Dak it means absolutely nothing. This list could become a reality list of guys to bring in and this is a fair assessment of the FA QBs. The QBs that Dallas could really take a look at are Bridgewater, Mariotta, Tannehill, possible Rivers. Dallas could also look at Nick Mullens of the 49rs. That kid can play.

While I hate to give Dak a big contract, he is far far better than anyone you listed, aside from Rivers, and he may be done.

Yeah, that's the mess that's been passed around. Luck is a stud, and top 5 before retiring.

What did you think about him dragging a terrible team to the playoffs for 2 years in a row? How did you not find that impressive? Just curious.

I'm not sure Jerry will give Dak what he wants. The guys I listed would be a stop gap along with drafting a rookie QB. Or they franchise Dak and draft a rookie.

Players deserve getting paid. It’s just I need to choose the ones I want to pay. Pay Prescott would never have paid Elliot
