Taylor is on to somethings..

I just wish he would say it quicker without all the Jingo talk.

It's annoying.

But as for coaches from Garrett's staff not finding work?

True for sure. Garrett finding work shocked me.but like Garrett, they were all hired by Jerrah. They were a cobbled together bunch of hires not hired my a coach with success at the NFL level.

Jerrah hired Garrett to fulfill Jerrah's ego to coach. But that was out of the question..

so instead, in came Garrett.

Somebody who would accept Jerrah's meddling and make it his own to the outside world. That's why Jerrah could do the locker room reviews of the game with the media before Garrett went to speak to them.

It will be interesting how long McCarthy allows that before he ends that.

I give it about mid season.

As for Moore..I think he is not extended after this year.

By then McCarthy and the shakedown year of the staff will be done.

McCarthy will then take over the play calling to be sure anything not working correctly on offense is tweaked directly.

It's going to be important for McCarthy to control things 100% with no in between communication mistakes.

His job depends on it.

Just my thoughts.

I agree about Taylor's act. He somehow thinks it's cool when it nothing but annoying. I'm thankful for the recaps like today so I don't have to listen to him.

But as far as the coaches hired goes, I don't for a minute think Jerry forced any of them on Garrett. If you look at their history, they had a past connection to Jason himself or to a relative of Jason's. Garrett brought in Kiffin who he knew from Tampa Bay, and that started down the road to Marinelli, and then Marinelli to bring in Richard. And Alexander was a hire based on a recommendation from John Garrett.

The big problem was that neither Garrett nor Jones knew where to find good assistants, or coaches good enough to make up for Garrett's own shortcomings.

Whispers from the Star for 01/31/20 Friday - Per Jean Jacque Taylor 103.3 ESPN radio Jam Session

Highlights:

- Why hasn't Kris Richard been hired yet ? - what were the plus and minus of Kris Richard

- why hasn't other departed Cowboys assistants been hired yet (Gary Brown, Sandray Lal, Ben Bloom, Greg jackson)

- Is Kellen Moore (Time Based offense) vs Mike McCarthy (West Coast offense) are a future
conflicting recipe for disaster ?

no its not a recipe for disaster----there is too much wisdom from all the coaches we got this year......much easier to "pare down" from too much information...then...becoming smart from less information

I really was not aware of all that.

Kiffen yes..the rest not so much. So thanks for all that.

Bottom line for all of that is Garrett never stood on his own in Dallas. And to go 10 years with that..

OMG.

I am just hoping Jerrah does not screw up this McCarthy regime. Jerrah had his disagreements with Parcells over TO..

certainly with Jimster..

Phillips..

Hopefully Stephen is going to assert himself more and sit Daddy in his easy chair on his boat and play Madden to satisfy his need to run his team.

What makes you think the son asserting himself more is a good thing?

Keeping Kellen Moore is a Jerrah decision , he wanted to keep everyone in the offense & Big Mac negotiated that .

Keeping Kellen is a recipe for disaster . Yes indeed . Because its a Jerry move.
Wrong. McCarthy was going to try and hire Kellen no matter where he went. So yeah. Stop

wrong ? really ?

"It's possible, of course, that owner and de facto general manager Jerry Jones wanted to keep Moore at all costs and made McCarthy agree to relinquish the play-calling duties as a condition of his hiring. Jones essentially groomed Garrett to become the team's head coach after he came up through the organization as a bright offensive mind, so it's possible he's taking a similar approach with Moore.

It's also possible McCarthy simply evaluated the Dallas offense and decided against interfering too much with a unit that had success.

"Between us, we can take this offense forward another step," he said Thursday of his pairing with Moore, per ESPN's Todd Archer. "

Maybe it's a generational thing, but I'd much rather spend 10 minutes reading an article than 45 minutes listening to someone for 5 minutes of insight. That said, I'd rather deal with JJT's content and
questions than Skip Bayless or Scream A Smith.

Mussolini was not evil if compared to Hitler...

JJT not terrible compared to SAS...

I do not think Stephen is as fixed in his vision like Jerrah is.

Tunnel vision that is.

I have very little knowledge of how the inner workings b/w father and son really work.

Just the reported disagreements over Johnny Mansel went down and other thinly reported interactions they have had.

Stephen seems more open minded compared to Dad.

That's just my feeling.

Views may vary.

If you do not agree..why?

.

you'd be really pipe- dreaming if you think McCarthy' arrival is gonna stop Jerruh from doing the locker room interviews. ... this is the same Jerruh that
people asked Jerruh when Parcells was introduced as the new HC , if Jerruh was gonna continue to walk and be on the sidelines .

..... to wish Jones replied " Well, its' still my sidelines !

regardless of the HC of Cowboys is,.that's just NOT gonna ever change until Jones can no longer physically do so.
McCarthy had to know that before coming in the door.

I think he just wants something to talk about
Kris and most of these guys will get jobs
May not get the ones they want but they will get jobs
I think MM kept Moore because it makes a transition easier and he liked what they did last year
Terminology can be over came and that’s why they aren’t changing it
But the difference in the two systems is much more than terminology and that’s why he will bridge those differences over a couple years
With Moore he basically has to teach him and not all the players
Moore is a smart guy and I think it will work fine
My biggest concern is not the staff or play calling but players
Next season will be determined by what they do with the roster more than anything
MM and the guys he hired can create a system that works fine but you have to have talent
Getting the guys is gonna be the biggest challenge and will have the biggest impact on what works than anything else
Bridging the terminology and systems only works if you have talent

Moore was working within Garrett's offense.

We don't know what he prefers.

When Moore was the All Time wins leader for college QBs, was the weak armed Moore likey to attempt the Aikman style or the Joe Montana style?

The true "timing based" offense requires 20 yard out route passes thrown like bullets.

The West Coast offense made a average at best arm strength QB into the greatest (or top 2) QB of all time.

JJT...tell me again how Kellen Moore ran an Aikman style offense in college...or is the claim that he abandoned what he did in college to run an opposite scheme as a coordinator?

Where JJT is confused is that Dak functions best a structured offense. In that regard he fits into the Aikman mindset.

Aikman: Extreme Structure. Required precise route running.

Romo: Opposite of Aikman. Success based on Ad-Lib style.

Romo made Dez rich.

Aikman would have had Jimmy ship Dez to the Browns after one practice...
