This is dumb. Either sign him to a long-term deal or let him go. At this point, we know what we've got with him. **** or get off the pot.
seriously thank goodness you dont own a team or a GM position on it.. you dont throw any asking price at a player especially when they are asking for price well over their talent level.. you also do NOT LET THEM GO..nothings free , the FT will at least give the DC trade options should team believe Dak is worth 35 mil plus 2 1sts

when pigs fly but thats why I Non Exclusive, cheaper to pay out and gives Dak and his agent an eye opener that no team is interested.. he signs or sits.. he hasn't made enough money or have enough skins to give up 28mil FT number.. he might not show up for some early OTAS and the involuntary stuff plus some TC who knows..eventually he comes in and plays..

you simply dont ley players WALK when you have some leverage..its business not FF

It would be interesting to see how Dak does elsewhere while the Cowboys front office looks for the next Paxton Lynch.

Jerry might even pull off the trade this time.

Yeah that's true they probably won't find anyone better but at least we won't have a huge chunk of the salary cap tied up to a QB who must be carried to a title.

Yeah but there’s only one Taco. Check out their other first round picks. You can’t let Taco dictate your next move. Just gotta learn from it.
We haven't gotten "so" much value since Martin. I like LVE but later found out we're one of the few teams who didn't regrard lifetime spinal conditions as a problem..smh. We throw em away anyway, might as well throw at a QB who can elevate this franchise later on. Dak's not elevating anyone. can't even throw to Amari on the road.

Directly from Dak? Can you link me to this or was this a "rumor"? I very highly doubt this is the case. Because with this news from Schefter, that would add even more to my point that they aren't confident in Dak and OK with moving on.
No. Dak wants close to $40 million per year. Jerry is offering around $33 million. Jerry wants to sign Dak for 6 years, thus enabling the Cowboys to better take the cap hit down the road. Dak wants a shorter term deal so he can hit on another bigger contract 4 years down the road when he's still on good health and still considered in his prime.

He said he won't be in DAL preparing wo a deal.

I'm not saying this isn't true, I'm saying the link I'm getting doesn't say that at all. It seems to be more "read between the lines".

I just don't see in the very quote here where it says he's planning on holding out: ""We'll get to that when we get to that,'' Prescott said. “I look forward to talking to my agents and when that (franchise tag) comes to play, the direction that we’ll go. Until that’s a reality, I won’t worry about it.

This doesn't read as though Dak is suggesting he's made his decision.

They tagged DLaw last year before signing him to an extension. Don't be surprised when that happens with Dak.

cant believe there is only 1 person with common sense after 3+ pages of posts. This is purely about exclusive negotiating rights with Dak.

Such a dysfunctional franchise under Jerry Jones. Not signing your most important player to the long term deal he has earned sets another bad tone for the upcoming season.

What did he say to "quote that" ? He made it a point, albeit out of character from him. Seems true color finally came through honestly, prefer that tbh. So you wait until it is safe to throw to win? So about that contract...

Exactly. But the "deny Dak anything" crew wants to believe so bad that the Cowboys are moving on to spite him. The "deny Zeke anything" crew sure didn't have a good time with negotiations, lol.

I said this is most likely to, he's also going to be waiting on the Mahomes deal...as he should. I imagine Watson is doing the same. There's no reason for Dak to sign a contract right now when Mahomes is about to get an historic contract.

He's not going to holdout when he'll be getting close to 30 million. However, people are insane if they think we can tag him twice and he'll wait until he's 28 for his second contract in the league.

Oh yeah? What's he going to do about it?

Since Zack Martin you’ve used your firsts rounders on Zeke, Taco, LVE and Amari Cooper. Three of those guys are Pro Bowlers.

Dak doesn’t elevate anyone? Cobb and Cooper has their best seasons in years. Gallup went from third round pick to a 1k receiver. That’s elevation.

Yeah, don’t they always? I would have signed him over a year ago for a much smaller amount....
They don’t sign him and then give him weapons and sign Kitna as a qb coach and they act shocked he had a career year. Why would you help him raise his value just to not sign him? It makes no sense.

He was directly asked if he will show up to Fresno if he gets tagged, that was his response. Again, I'm not saying he has NEVER said he won't show up - I'm just getting multiple people saying he outright stated he will holdout if he gets tagged. From that quote, which was just a couple days ago, it does not say this. It's more of "I'll talk to my agent and get his opinion when/if that happens"

Dak is waiting for the Mahomes contract first and foremost. I imagine his agent, just like every other QB agent, will tell him to take that guaranteed money and keep negotiating with Jerry and Stephen.

There will be other teams interested for sure..this is going to get ugly and disrupt all of next season unless something is done
I would gladly take 2 first rounders for him. Use them and move up to get a qb in the draft. And I like Dak but not at the price he is asking for (or his agent is). I heard on the radio that the Pats are willing to give Brady 30 million a year and that guy has won 6 SB and been to 9 of them. Dak should be getting a little more than Wentz and a little less than Goff.
