It is more cherry picking to say that he's inconsistent, when he was one of the most accurate passers in the league this year.

God forbid he has developed in those 4 years.
He has improved, no doubt.
As a knowledgeable fan, do you really believe in your heart he's a consistently accurate passer? Not just that the receiver got a hand on or maybe even caught but that was where it needed to be, when it needed to be there with the consistency of you benchmark QB's.
As i originally stated, when he can show me consistency, I'll gladly acknowledge it.

While Dak can be off at times, his completion percentage shows that he is accurate enough. That is not my big hesitation with Dak. He is incapable of consistently getting out of the pocket to make plays. He makes good throws from a clean pocket a lot of the time. I don't expect him to be great when he is directly under pressure with mechanics.

What I want is a QB that can maneuver in the pocket or get out and make a play. He does not do that to extend drives enough to be a top QB in this league. He has lead feet getting out of the pocket. That's how you make players around you better. You give the receivers that extra second or 2 to get open among other things!

Yah, he can make all the throws.....some of the times.... Cherry pick, much ? I’ll wait for your video of all his throws that are too high, too far ahead or behind, and in the dirt. Will I have to wait long ?

Man, you true believers are something - cherry pick and then ignore facts/film right before your eyes so you can support your position.

Thought I would show this little video of Dak and how he can throw every pass you need. This guy is a franchise QB regardless of his haters.

Not a ringing endorsement. 32 QBs in the NFL make the same throws, more than half could do as well if not better, and probably 6 to 10 in the draft who would learn quickly in OTAs.

And they are?

I'll wait..

I agree with the general premise that Dak has to keep improving his mechanics.

But you can play this game with every single quarterback in the league, including the Peytons, Bradys, and Brees of the world - who all have always struggled maintaining mechanics when faced with interior passrush. This QB who has perfect mechanics on every throw doesn't exist.
It's because they nit-pick Prescott solely and don't over analyze other QBs. It's lazy and it's complete BS.

Heart doesn't matter, but yes of course he is. This board is ridiculous in how it evaluates Dak's accuracy, because it constantly ignores what the rest of the league is doing. @percyhoward has posted the numbers time and time again.

Nitpicking his ball placement - which I've been guilty of in the past - is absurd. You can do that for every quarterback to ever play the game.

Dak can make all the throws. He can drop back and hit his primary option with accuracy. He's excellent with his eyes and can get safeties and linebackers to move.

Where Dak struggles is when he has to come off his primary read. His fundamentals break down and his throws are inaccurate. And the good teams took away his primary read, which is why the offense struggled. Dak couldn't make them pay with his second or third option on any type of consistent basis. With those flaws, Dak shouldn't be considered a franchise QB. He's a placeholder and should be paid as such.
I disagree, plenty of film showing Dak going through reads. You don't throw almost 5000 yards just throwing to first reads. Not only that but the offense was number 1 in yards in the league.....

I'll start with I am a Dak fan. That being said I don't think I saw a slant (you know the old Aikman to Irvin special) in that video, and I feel like that is one of his weaker throws. But I want him as our QB.

IMO, fans are victims of recency bias. The last 3 or 4 games we saw were Dak playing with a sprained shoulder on a team that had basically quit. When his was healthy and his team was still in it, he was playing at a new level. That is much more likely to carry forward than the pack-it-in games we saw late in the year.

And are we still doing the "inconsistent accuracy" meme with Dak? C'mon, guys. He fixed that BIG TIME" this year.

I am a Dak fan .
But truth be told, he is not an elite QB .
I don't know how much of that is on Garrett though .

Show the video of what you claim. What I see is people on this site suggests showing film of good throws and yet the haters say show more film but yet they never show film to back up what their saying. Wonder how long I have to wait on that video, been waiting 4 years

The list of players who makes those throws on the move with any consistency is: Wilson, Watson, Mahomes, Rodgers, Prescott, Wentz. Some of the younger guys - Darnold, Murray, Allen, Mayfield could get there. That's it, that's the list. If you think Matt Stafford, Matt Ryan and Drew Brees are out extending plays like that and making those throws down the field, you're dead wrong. They can make those throse standing in a clean pocket, but not on the move.

The whole point is whether or not they're successful. Dak is. 20-something other quarterbacks aren't.

The best quarterbacks in the league are unequivocally Mahomes and Wilson. It's because they're the two best at making those plays. Any take where Jameis Winston is doing that is wildly off the mark.

This is a dead end. You are insisting on arguing and not proving a point.
If you want to continue, post your film evidence of QBs who can't make those throws. I'm not going to search for plays where Stafford, Ryan or Brees were moving when they threw just to show you're being a nincompoop.

he has improved every year he's been in the league.
he was not the reason we didnt make the playoffs.
we have a good young QB who gets better every year...pay him.
if not...you better have a damn good plan b.

You don't start from day one and for 4 seasons on ANY team in the NFL unless you can make all the throws. That argument is just another misused phrase like "carrying the team, Making players around him better and throwing WRs open." Good God, what are people watching? And are they sober enough to evaluate?

The Garbage time stats are completely true .

Stats padding was heavily favored this season . Yes.

But i don't know if all QBs are padding the same way . I suppose they do .
