Then what's the reason he's not signed yet?

They couldn't get it done when Dak was only making 2mil. Is he supposed to get in a bigger hurry when he's making 30mil+ guaranteed on a tag?

A new HC probably makes management less in a hurry too, wanting the HC to have a chance to fully evaluate Dak for a year before he buys in.

If the guy isn't one of the best and worth the money, you shouldn't pay him at all.

Problem with that is can Dak elevate those around him like Romo did with Miles Austin and Laurence Robinson who had their career numbers while with Dallas and Romo.

Romo only really had the luxury of an All Pro OL, League leading RB and WR1 together one season in 2014 and came within (a catch that wasn’t) from our 1st championship appearance in two decades.

Too bad we never fielded that combination together again.

I’d argue that was our best offensive team since the 90’s. One that was as close to championship caliber as we’ve had. Unfortunately Romo wasn’t afforded that caliber of Elite supporting cast throughout his career.
If only the defense didn't suck in 2014. They couldn't stop a gimpy Rodgers...

LOL......Like I said in another thread, Dak's going need some thick skin once his deal is signed. It's going to get ugly, brutal and downright nasty at times. I hope he's ready.......

You better believe it! The pressure is going to be on him and his supporters.

Stop ruining Cowboys Zoners offseason. We were hoping Dak would be traded for picks. Then we would sign Brady for 20 million. Then draft Eason or Frohm as Brady’s backup. Dak sucks!!!!!

Dak is stressed out over whether he'll make 30 or 40 million dollars.

I'm stressed out over trying to make $3000 or $4000 dollars, and I call that $1000 extra dollars good change.
You sound like a man who values the dollar and works hard for everything he has. More people should be like that.

Yea... if we had a top 10 defense like we’ve had the last couple years with the 2014 offense the results could have been much different .

I don't care if he's asking for $40 million or "only" $36-38 million. That's a lot of money for a QB that hasn't done anything more than win a division title.

Yes, it takes a supporting cast - QBs don't win championships on their own - but a huge QB contract only makes that a harder task. I'm skeptical.

SF made Garoppolo highest paid based off of way less than what we know about Dak. Nobody blinks at that contract now and that was just 3 years ago.

There is going to be tons of whining, crying and temper tantrums thrown once Dak gets his big contract. Guaranteed.
More like laughing over the years of mediocrity Jerry will be inflicting on the Team. Living with Dak at a low end incentive laced contract would be fine but Dak will never go for that as he doesn't have the talent to earn the incentives. Jerry being the fool he is will pay Dak and you will be here blaming every other player for Daks poor performances for years to come, it's who you are, a Dak apologist, really sad. .

Seems the prescient Glazer has determined Dak might get an extension, might get tagged, or even a solid whatever. That suggests to me he doesn't have a clue other than the obvious info the front office wants to sign him.

I'm moving forward with the reality of what's going on with this team.
Dak is not leaving. He's going to sign a contract that is going to be cap friendly for the 1st year, or two so they can go for it, unlike a cap killing Franchise Tag.
Where are you going?
Well you apparently have the resources to know exactly what the team is going to do. I don't.

Also, in that case, we have one shot...next year. Then its cant field a good enough team around #4 because he is taking up too much cap space.

I really HOPE that isnt the plan.
