....and just like that Dallas has lost their #1CB, their #1 sack DE, a starting DT, reserve OT, their #1 TE, their #1 SS, and their #3 WR......so far.
You are over valuing the players lost by a lot. I mean A LOT!

Byron and Quinn are the only two worth being bugged about.

Cobb should be replaced by a draft pick in a draft that is heavy with WR talent.

Heath was a below average starter. Witten is old and cooked. Maliek Collins was a below average starter. Solid pass rusher from the DT spot but he got absolutely gauged in the run more often than not.

Point is, the only two players lost that won’t be easy to replace in FA or the draft, are Byron and Quinn.

Hey OP I appreciate you putting the post together. I have no clue why you're being attacked. Some of the posters here are just embarrassing lately.

He also mentioned those guys. Not sure why y'all are attacking him. He threw up an analysis backed by statistics. Are you arguing we don't need to replace those stats and/or even improve them? If that's not your argument, than you agree with OP.

It’s not the end of the world. We don’t know if Dallas has things in the works yet, it’s just the beginning of FA. Just because we haven’t done much the last couple of days, doesn’t mean we aren’t trying to get talent in FA.

Where in my post did I attack him? Please point it out. I would like to see it.

I am offering my viewpoint on what he said. I openly admitted that Byron Jones and Quinn will be difficult to replace.

I then said I don’t think it will be hard to replace the others. That still means they need to be replaced, obviously because the cowboys aren’t going to play with 9 men on the field. But I’m arguing that those players production can be replaced by draft picks or other FA’s. Free agency isn’t over yet.

Any player that leaves from a team needs to be replaced. That’s basics. The team needs to field a 53 man roster. The FO needs to identify how to replace them. They still have the draft and a TON of free agents available in the NFL.

So, based on 2019 stats Dallas just lost these stats from the above players:

DEFENSE

163 Tackles (16% of team total) 15.5 Sacks (40% of team total) 16 PDef's 22 TFL's (29% of team total) 34 QB Hits (38% of team total) 3 Forced Fumbles (23% of team totals)

OFFENSE

118 Catches (30% of team total) 1,357 Yards (28% of team total) 7 Receiving TD's (23% of team total)

Tell me again all those that said the top priority was signing Dak and Cooper how Dallas will stop anyone in 2020?????

These players aren’t gone because of Dak’s contract alone. Only an idiot would believe that. Just being real with you.

Sure we lost a few guys but let's wait until the end of FA and after the draft to complain about the state of the team. This is pretty typical stuff for the Cowboys.

their #1 sack DE, a starting DT

The dline losses were even bigger.

Also Bennett. You can add in his numbers. 4 more sacks takes us to half the team total. For the dline, we lost the 1st, 3rd, and 4th highest sackers.
Doesn't look like they're interested in Hyder or Covington either.
Lots more tackles between those guys.

But no surprises. This was in the cards.

Not by the end of the year.

The dline losses are significant.

Current d-linemen under contract (excluding R. Gregory who is on suspension):

DE D. Lawrence
DT/DE T. Crawford
DT T. Hill
DE/DT D. Armstrong
DE J. Jackson
DT J. Hamilton
DT D. Wise

That's it as of right now.

every one of them will be replaced. Maybe better maybe worse. We already know we will be better off at TE. Let’s see the rest of the cards before we fold.

When people talk like this it makes me hate when they pay too much attention to how the sausage is made. Early FA losses to this team were inevitable. They will be replaced. As long as the core of the team remains intact, be still have something to build around. I'm aware the Dak haters are not sold on this idea. But they are the ones that will always have something to complain about even when we win more Super Bowls.

Not so easy to replace what Quinn, Bennett, and Collins brought.

Getting Gregory would be big, but DT is grim. The whiff on Hill hurts. We could draft DT with our first two picks and still be undermanned. Starting quality RDTs don't grow on trees.
