No, I don't think you are being hostile. I just think that there leverage points on all sides of this and it's simply a matter of if you want to use them or not. There are good moves to be made by the team, regardless of what happens in this negotiation and one of them is to go out and get a capable young QB to back somebody up. That's a no brain deal to me but we never do it. I hope that McCarthy is smart enough to go ahead and do the right thing for the team, despite fan base opinion or what have you, when it comes to the QB position.

Great points, I like that idea. I was thinking back to when Aikman got hurt and Babe Laufenberg was our backup. The next year Jimmy went out and signed Steve Beuerlein to avoid a repeat of that situation.
And Laufenberg went on to be a sportscaster..

something some of us will never recover from.

I don't disagree that there are leverage points on all sides, I just disagree with the idea the Cowboys are getting ready to make a big change at QB. I think it's all just posturing, which I think may be what you are saying as well.

I don't think they are going to do that this season, for sure, unless Dak just decides to hold out and give up an entire year. I don't see that happening but it could. But that doesn't mean that the team isn't planning for a big change. They stupid if they weren't planning for it, to be honest. I think you hope for the best, plan for the worst in this type of deal.

I want Dak as our starter, I just don't want to have to pay him a record deal and a short term deal. I think that's bad business and if it comes to that, I'd rather be prepared to move on. I'm not afraid of going on without Dak. Good Coaching, Good Front Office management, good Player Evaluation is the key to winning in today's NFL. I see it more and more, every year. That model works.

A few questions ….

1. How many QB's are the level of Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees, and if that is the requirement, where are the Cowboys going to find that kind of player? Obviously that kind of player is rare or we wouldn't have to talk about players drafted 15-19 years ago to use that example.

2. Do you have a link to the leaked video? I haven't seen it or even heard about it, so my curiosity is up.

3. Just as there have been reports of Dak asking too much, there also have been reports that the Cowboys are pushing for a longer term deal than the 4 year deals other QBs have signed, so how do we know which side is really responsible for the impasse?
Be careful to much logic and these peeps will lose it

I think the team is getting ready to make a big change at QB.

I think they have gone as far as they want to risk the team with Dak.

Aaron Roger's or Drew Brees he is not.

Quietly Dallas is looking at their options I believe.

They leaked that video clip of Jones interviewing a top QB in the draft the other day.

Clearly this is a message to Dak and his agent. Come to reasonable terms..

Or they will draft a QB high and withdraw the Tag on Dak and use his money elsewhere.

I do not think they are bluffing. Jerrah and team are going to get back control of the team for McCarthy going forward.

I think the team is willing to dance with Dak.

But I do not think they are willing to follow his lead.

McCarthy is now in charge. Not Garrett. Garrett was a pushover. McCarthy is a rock.

So while alot of us want to play draft experts and debate DBs and DL as our top picks..

QB maybe the real position needing a decision.

BTW-I am not looking for a fist fight here over Dak. Just observations from you guys about the team thinking.

That is all.

Oh my bro.

Since when did being a Cowboy fan require you only discuss hard news only?

I am discussing killing time in a non-existent season.

You better loosen up and get over it.

This is going to be going on for awhile.

Try YouTube, no offense but unless I miss my guess, you are trying to offend me.

So stop.

Just play along or make your own thread so I can haunt your thread.

Boo.

You could win a Superbowl with Dak. You can’t say that about a lot of guys. Energy is better spent upgrading the holes and depth in other places on this roster.

Is it okay if Dak wins a last game of the season against an Eagle team with Wal Mart players before he wins the Super Bowl ?

They might be looking at developmental QB's, but this is Dak's team and he is going to get paid. Things are moving slowly with everything in life right now.
