Any reason for the use of the word "Hate" on this site?

When the team was 3-3 last year and coming off two of three seasons making the playoffs, we had a poster start a new thread to renounce his fandom of the Cowboys because of Jerry Jones.

What exactly is the term for that?

The term for that is "FINALLY!!".

But I doubt that person actually did that. Very few do. Just crow about it.

So for now put away the hate..
For starters, :welcome:. Not every member/fan uses that word. Give yourself some time to know the posters. Even though it's a family forum, you'll eventually find out who the haters, bullies, know it all, ignorant, sarcastic, unrealistic, rude, arrogant, posters are.

When you do, you'll have them all weeded out & on the "ignore" option. It's wonderful & lets you chose on which posters you only wish to see.

Which in the end will prevent you from starting threads as this one.

After being here a few weeks, I have noticed that some fans refer to others as "Dak haters"
"Jerry Jones haters" etc..
Definition of 'Hate" An intense and passionate dislike for someone...
Now I have an opinion based on what I have seen from Dak Prescott the last few years, both in big games and on the road vs some of the "better" teams. But personally, I don't really know the man, have never met him, so how can I or anyone else here be a "Dak hater??"
Jerry Jones, I think he loves his team, maybe too much, he did say he would be a "hands on owner" early on, so I live with it as I am a true and loyal Cowboy's fan and have been since the Staubach, Landry era.
So please, I do know sports fans can be passionate, but it should also be a fun thing. It takes many of us away from some of daily life's problems, gives you to hope for something. In these days we see how much we all miss the game we love. So for now put away the hate..

you mean all the #ZekeHate is over?

A lot of posters accuse other posters of "hate" even when those other posters havent expressed any hatred.

Hate is a very strong word. Most people dont hate things they dont agree with or people they think arent doing a good job.

Just recently a forum member hoped Zeke would go to the Jets to prove he's a worthless bum benefiting by our o-line.

Imma say that is pretty strong.....hate. You want a top-of-the league player, from your own team...to fail....to prove you are right? Hmmmm something not right about that!

When you clearly have an agenda by highlighting all the negatives while downplaying all the positives and assigning all or most of the blame for losses but give no credit for the wins then you're a hater. You may not technically hate the person in real life, but this is the internet and "hater" is a common term for those types of posters. I don't get why haters try to act as if they aren't haters. They should own their behavior.

If anyone is using the hater label they need to make sure they are using it appropriately. No player is perfect and all can be rightfully criticized for something. You need to distinguish between the actual haters with an agenda and posters who just have objective criticism.

EXACTLY, 100% agree I am against the idea that once you say one word of dissent against anything you get summarily dismissed as a "hater" It gives people an excuse to dismiss every thought you express "oh youre just a hater"

But i will say this goes way beyond this board, its a current cultural thing.

Generally, it is relatively uncomplicated for the human mind to match the words and actions of someone else with an extreme description. Conversely, it is much harder for people to apply careful consideration into an accurate summation of what someone else says or does.

Question: Why have humans assigned labels to others that are not always true throughout their history? Answer: Because it is easy.

The problem with your post here is to say highlight "all" the negatives and downplay "all" the positives. I think you may be imagining that any one person is that consistent. Sure maybe one or two people.

@Williamsboys Just as each force has an equal and opposite force in this word, so do our emotions. If you remove 'hate' then 'love/like' also disappears. Love cannot exist in the absence of hate. Someone who really loves a certain player probably hates another player/players with equal magnitude.

We all have our players we like and players we don't really like.

If you do remove the word 'hate' can you at least leave one exception for Jason Garrett. Yes, we are all Cowboy fans but the 'hate' for Garrett could no longer be contained last year by even the biggest Garrett fans. One or two exceptions aside.

Chest thumbing fan boys feel the word hate or hater cements their argument for some reason. My first thought when I read a post with that in the title, the author is wearing a baseball cap backwards.

Ok, is "overwhelming majority" better? There are a ton of Dak haters, Garrett haters, Jerry Jones haters, Dez haters, and even Zeke haters. I would even classify myself as a Dez, Zeke and Garrett hater because most of my comments on them are negative.

I don't care.
This forum has affordances you can use to turn this place into nothing but sunshine, roses and rainbows.
It's called the IGNORE FUNCTION.
One click (or maybe a few), and you can turn this place into a paradise.
If you don't, you're basically saying you're willing to tolerate and endure the haters and the lovers.
And if that's the case, QUIT PLAIN'IN BOUT IT!!!!
