On what planet is a player signing this deal?

Option 1- franchise tag 31 mil fully guaranteed with another 39 next year or free agency. A long term deal also possible, this would pay over 30 per year

Option 2- 2 years 40 mil plus incentives? At best your incentives total 37 mil if he wins the SB.

Simple question, which would YOU choose

31 million

or

20 million with the possibility of another 17 if you win the division, 3 playoff games and the Super Bowl. All teams goals you do not have direct control over.

I don't think most here expect to see Dak go anywhere. He's smart enough to know he is the luckiest man in football to be the Cowboys quarterback.
But he's just not ready for big money, and perhaps by incentivizing his contract, he can get the big money while getting better. He deserves more than he's been paid, but he's just not at the point at which he deserves to automatically receive the big money when he has failed to deliver so often.
SO, guarantee him $20 million per year for two years, and give him an additional $5 million for winning the division. Give him an additional $2 million for each playoff win if he starts and wins. And $6 million if he wins the Super Bowl as the starter.
Dak seems to believe that he is entitled to a huge contract, but he hasn't earned one.
I just think it's only fair that he be given the opportunity to earn what he's asking for while showing us that he isn't out for a free ride.
This would eliminate the statistical battle, and put the onus on him to deliver.
I think it's fair.

Why would Dak agree to that when he can just sign the cap deal and get paid?

Why even offer 20M guaranteed?

How about

1M for every win during the season
5m for every playoff win
And another bonus of 10m if he wins the super bowl

I mean, if he goes undefeated and wins the super bowl he can make over 40m this year

Sounds fair

You forgot to add in average 55.0 on punts and be 35/35 on field goals. Bonus $25K if he can hit a 70-yarder during the season.

Nothing either of you spew is going to remotely happen re: Dak. This isn't about being a lover or a hater. It's just living in the real world.

Post here when have I been wrong concerning Dak and his new deal?
2 years I've been stating hold a small cup concerning Dak's new contract?
Now go find Dak's new contract and post it here.....if you can that is????

P.S. Like I've posted before in the REAL WORLD only TALENT gets the big contract not bus drivers!!!

That is fair, and logical lol , but that isnt going to happen.
players dont really want to earn the money, just pay them big and maybe they earn it and maybe they dont lol.
Dez got 80 million for 2015-2018 did he earn it??? no he didnt.

Jerry has made billions over the last 24 years - did he earn it? What has he won? What has his team accomplished?

Players make a fraction of what owners make and their careers are much shorter. That they should make even less and "earn" everything else is couch potato logic.

It's sad how the Dak fan base are so scared of him actually having to produce in order to get paid.
Just like with Garrett, there are Dak fans, and Cowboys fans.
Dak fans are not necessarily Cowboys fans.

Maybe they'll sign Dak to a long term deal and then draft a quarterback in the 2nd round of the 2021 draft?

Do your thing leeblair and pay no mind to the Dak-Employees here!
Let them bully away no one is intimidated or is listening!!
They're here with a Dak-Agenda first and foremost and have no considerations for the Cowboys.
They are NOT Cowboy fans period!
I just wonder when Dak leaves will they follow him to his new team where he will be warming up the bench??
As trusted Employees and if the money is right they just might....:omg:

Really now????

P.S. Wake up folk's one 13-3 season 4 years ago (One year wonder Like RG3)was a long time ago and since then Dak and our team is AVERAGE TO BELOW AVERAGE!!
One can argue about the cost
But these post about ability are silly
The numbers say he’s atleast a top 10 QB no matter how much people want to say it doesn’t

Sad are any fans making their peers feel wrong about a situation completely not within their ability to control. In the real world where everyone lives and breathes, there is only one "Prescott fan" of any significance:

You have zero chance of making him think like you do, so you try-and-fail at degrading others who have no say in the contract negotiations between Jones and Prescott.

Snoopy would be very disappointed.

Can you relax with the Dak threads, he’s not signing anything less than $35mil a year and it’ll probably be for 4 years and he’ll 100% sign with the Cowboys.

The end.

Dallas has already offered Dak $35 mil per year on a 5 year deal. With the passage of time, they might be willing to go with that same amount on a four year contract. With that being the case, I doubt that Dak and his agent would be receptive to $20 million per year, with incentives. I'd imagine that would be considered a step back in their estimation. Coming down from $35 mil to $20 mil w/incentives would only be seen as an insult.
