I have to say I do find the Attack Dak squad using their Emo Analytics to be high humor. They try so hard to sound sane. But just like Charles Manson, crazy just takes over and all that in control up to this point just flies out the window.
I hear crazy attracts crazier people, thanks for being part of the stat.

Jerry and McClay should make Dak play under the franchise tag and make him prove that he is worth big contract by winning a SB. No excuses. DO NOT CAVE IN.

So, any QB who's contract comes up before winning a Super Bowl should not get a long term deal . . . no matter who it is or what the options are?

So, what is your plan for having a high quality QB then? You can't tag Dak forever, and you can't sign a top free agent with that criteria. Just roll the dice on the draft, even if the Cowboys don't draft until late in the 1st round?

Sorry my friend, but you aren't living in the real world. The idea is to build a team, and a team can't build anything without making a commitment to the pieces they feel are important to reaching goals. And, like it or not, teams have to compete for the services of players, and other teams aren't all going to play by that rule, which means the Cowboys would lose out if they did.

Let's see Romo was coming off two 8-8 years and Jerry/Stephen gave him a contract for 108 million with 55 million in guarantees and Romo was 32 at the time he signed that contract. And people are complaining about Dak. Hmmmm.

I'm certain those are just the voices in your head telling you things, like Dak needs to go down the road and your comment here.

Don't be afraid of the Thorazine drip.

All I know is if I had a chance at signing the largest contract in NFL history earning 100+ million in guaranteed money to be the face of the NFL for multiple years on a team that is full of talent and a good head coach, I would personally take the deal. You are not only taken care of in terms of merch sales, playoff bonuses, and being treated like a King with billion dollar stadium and practice facility, you also get crazy amounts of endorsement offers. Not to mention your also taken care of after your playing days are over when you have every major sports network bidding millions to sign you as a game day analyst to work 20 or so days a year. Would sure be awfully stupid to reject all this to try and squeeze and extra 5 or 10 million out of a team, end up playing 1 year on a the tag, and end up playing for a career graveyard like the Browns, Jets, or Jags. Just my 2 cents tho. Go Cowboys!

Dak deserved a better contract after his rookie season. The Jones boys messed up when that did not happen. Making him stick to that 4th rounder deal for 4 years sent a message to Dak that has him squeezing every penny he can get out of his current negotiations. The Jones boys created this mess.

This simply isn't true. Dak wasn't even eligible for an extension until last offseason, where both sides had strong negotiations and nearly had an agreement until Dak ultimately chose to bet on himself for an even better contract. You've simply made a strawman argument using false pretenses to pin the team as in the wrong.

sir you do realize the cba doesn’t allow you to renegotiate after a players rookie season right?

They woke up and realized they’re not gonna make the same mistake.

Did you forget to change usernames before making this thread?

That's exactly what I was thinking, while I do agree with him, he's clearly a troll.

I knew there were fans claiming we should just pay Dak, and in reality they are just trolling, hoping we do something stupid

I remember this guy just the other day, claiming we need to pay Dak and get it over with, and how great Dak is. Now this?

A player doesn't have to win a Super Bowl to get paid, but you'd expect more for the asking price. Zeke gets paid, disappeared, Lawrence.. disappeared, Jaylon, disappeared. Cooper he disappeared then got paid just like Daks about to do. Maybe McCarthy will make these guys worth it, cause right now none of them are. I guess that's just how it is in the NFL?? overpay, don't win, and let these players continue to hold you hostage. Hate to keep bringing up that Eagle game, but that's when you prove your worth and they all sucked.

But But But Dak should get ALL of this AND be the highest paid QB in history because he’s been made to work for free on his rookie deal and it’s not fair and it’s an injustice and we don’t care about building a solid team around him and keeping it together for years to come.

So much in here to unpack that is wrong that I give up.

Pay attention, I didn't say extension. I said "better contract" as in rip up his rookie deal and pay him better. It's not about what he was eligible for, it's about doing what's right. The league mandates what you can pay on the rookie scale but Dak's rookie contract was hardly maxed rookie money. That's what he deserved.

People said this last year and now they gotta pay Dak 31.1M.
Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice... maybe I'm just not very smart.
