Twitter: Quotes like these are strong evidence why Big Mike is more relatable than the freckled puppet

Mike's more relatable because his dad was a fire fighter. And Mike couldn't afford to go to a prestigious college and worked his way into the nfl and his current position. Not Garrett's daddy gifting a starting qb position at every college he was at as well as free schooling. Getting you on a nfl roster even though you were trash. Or getting you a coaching job because the owner loved your dad.

I'm really excited about Big Mike and I hope y'all are too! I think this Tweet shows the big difference between Jason and Mike. Garrett always had canned robotic responses much akin to seeing the Zig Ziglar inspirational one liner tour... (for those whom don't know Zig, he was a great motivational speaker and writer)

Anyway, I love how connected Mike seems to be to his actual emotions, it's just such a breath of fresh air. I can 100% see how Mike will be able to get these guys to excel, the guy is as real as it gets. #justexcied

This seems like something a lot of coaches would say, including Jason Garrett. Comments expressing excitement about a new player and how they have oversome struggles are kind of standard. I just want to see McCarthy do a better job with game plans, and play calls and in game adjustments with Garrett. IF he does those things, that's where we will see the difference.

Do you have a problem with people that have freckles?

Good question, heavens no.. I had tons as a kid! My mom and I call Jason the freckled puppet so it just stuck..
It started with us saying he was jerry's puppet than slowly morphed into Jerry's Freckled Puppet! Kind of a nod to howdy doody I guess..

This is completely inaccurate. First, Jason Garrett's dad was a lower level football coach, not a wealthy guy, and second, Jason only played for his dad one season in college. Jason first went to Princeton, which his dad had nothing to do with, then he transferred to Columbia to play for his dad one year, and then he transferred back to Princeton, which his dad still had nothing to do with.

Remember when Garrett fanboys were comparing him to Landry because of the similarities in their stoic behavior? Good times...

I agree it's nice to finally have a coach with some soul.

lol there are a few people I'm sure, that blocked me in that thread.

Yeh keep being delusional. Im from jersey he had heavy connects in jersey. How else do you think you get 4 kids into princeton. Like I said Jason never worked for anything in his life on his own. I can't front im jealous I was never able to get carried through life by my parents.

I'm stating facts. The starting QB position at Princeton was not Jerry Garrett's to "gift". Jerry Garrett was not the coach at Princeton.

The way you get kids into Princeton is for them to have good grades and good test scores, and it helps if they can contribute in athletics as well. There is absolutely zero evidence that anyone has ever shown that Jerry Garrett somehow convinced Princeton to take his 4 kids without them having a foundation for it. That may be what you want to believe, but there are no facts to support it. I, on the other hand, have facts to support what I've said.

Yeah, the OP's sentiment is 100% correct, but this may not have been the best quote to cite.

How about one of Mike's first quotes at his intro PC when he said, "I don't know what to do with my hands!" Something the red robot would never say. Jason wasn't programmed for self-deprecating humor.

Sorry, Jim Garrett (I once knew a Jerry Garrett), but my post still applies. But, of course you want me to shut up with all those pesky facts.
The fact jerry has given all his kids jobs is disgraceful. His son is still head of pro scouting. Now you see why our free agents have not panned out. Jim garrett should have had girls.

I don't agree with you but that is fine.. Jason's typical response would be something like, "He's done a great job and we're excited to have him, we're going to continue giving him support and everything he needs to be the best player he can be"... Don't you notice the "We're" part? Jason very rarely made things singular and to me this is everything.

You're right it wasn't be the best quote to cite, but when I saw it, I felt it strengthened what I have already witnessed from Big Mike. The thing about Jason was everything was Organizational and not personal.

If Garrett was to say the same thing it would of went something like this- "We're proud of Aldon, he is a prime example of how to fight, and when I say fight I mean, rise above obstacles, I'm confident that we have the staff and structure in place to give him the support he needs".......

Where as Big Mike says, I'm blessed to be in this with him! Big difference to me..

What does that have to do with Jason going to Princeton?
