Not really. Dak is not even in the shadows of Mahomes and that's a fact. KC is the next NE now.
Huh? Not really what? I said they lucked into Dak. They wanted Lynch and Connor Cook over him. And the year previously they wanted Zack Martin. I don't know what KC or Mahomes has to do with my post my friend.

Yes but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Their pass rusher has requested a trade. He wants out yet he remains on their roster. Perhaps teams haven't shown interest in him.

Their pass rusher is very good but he's no Myles Garrett
Oh the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" argument. I guess man lol......

I actually like Denucci. Too bad we wont see much preseason this year.
I don't like or dislike him. Never even heard of him to be honest.

I just know its wishful thinking to expect a 7th rounder to come in and contribute when so many haven't especially top 10 picks. Not saying he won't but I'd like to think any contribution he has to this team is some years down the road if he ever does.

If Dalton sucks in 2020 then we continue with plan of drafting a first round QB in 2021 regardless.

There is a risk either way. Having a QB on a rookie contract means that we can improve the defense which is a priority. The offensive production will be fine pretty much regardless of who is QB. I don't see a 2015 situation happening again. We have so much quality on offense. Good O line. Quality RB and top receivers. An offensive minded head coach.
Yeah that's with the Browns said last year just for them to stink and they sucked with Chubb, Hunt, Odell and Landry.

Oh the delicious irony of Pollyanna starting a thread hammering the organization after spending years calling out other posters for doing the same exact thing........all because of Lil Dakota

crocker2007.jpg

With Pollyanna not being intelligent enough to see his own hypocrisy.

He is what he is. He's shown you what he is and he waited before last year to show you. AJ Green hasn't been hurt every year for the Bengals. AJ Green at his best was a top 4 receiver in the league.

But would you say that Dalton ever had the offensive pieces in Cincinnati that the Cowboys currently have? Let's be honest about that too.

Quite the contrary, they did the smart thing.
More so that McCarthy wielded his influence/knowledge on the front office.

McCarthy has coached QB's such as Montana, Favre, Rodgers, Marc Bugler, Aaron Brooks, and Matt Hasselbeck.
McCarthy knows what he has in Prescott.

Fair point but that's the Browns, I have never rated Mayfield (stated that from the start), their Head Coach was even worse than Garrett and they have improved their o line for next season. Perhaps they will improve next season. They also play in the same division as the best team in the NFL for me and an exceptionally well run and continously competitive franchise in the Steelers.

What was our record last year?
How many coaches in the league could go through a season with the top-ranked offense a top 10 ranked defense and go 8-8? Only one.

Everyone casually forgets that at season's end Jason Garrett was fired implicating him as the reason. The reason MM is here is it not?.

If we are talking about "names"? No. He's never had this many names on on offense. I'm not judging the guy for not having quarterbacked the best offense in the league. Just a formidable offense. And a few guys have been hurt here and there for them but his core of guys the past few years have been Tyler Boyd, Eifert and Joe Mixon and AJ Green WHEN healthy. I don't the correct narrative is that he hasn't had pieces around him. He's played with some solid pieces.

How on earth would he knows wha the had in Dak? He's never even coached him and last I heard hasn't even seen or talked to him lol. A lot different than seeing Aaron Brooks and Marc Bulger in practice everyday. Just a bit premature on your part.

They want to try and change the narrative because the truth is this whole thing looks incompetent from the outside looking in.
Perhaps he’s simply only worth a certain amount to them??

If he was a total stud, Jerry would have offered him more.

They’re not willing to spend more than their final reserve, which considering Dak’s ability, he should’ve taken it, and it was more than fair considering his performance.

Do you really think anyone would be stupid enough to,pay him more than Russel Wilson??

The reason Dak won’t be with us further after this year is because he was demanding more than players better than him... Its greed, pure and simple..

Once again....based on everything I've seen reported the money wasn't the issue it was years.

And will you guys stop using the Russell Wilson excuse? ITs irrelevant to the discussion.

Rarely do you get a QB the caliber of Dak Prescott in the 4th round and enjoy the fruits of a 4th round picks salary for 4 years. Dak sacrificed his body and soul diligently working on his game to improve all the while dealing with an incompetent coaching staff. And this is what Jerry and crew have done. It’s embarrassing to be a Cowboys fan right now. The organization sucks. I shouldn’t be surprised but I am.
So Dak did it all on his own. The coaching staff did not develop him at all I guess.

That is pretty bizarre thinking right there!

This is the second biggest mistake Jerry has made since he bought the Cowboys.

Well-managed franchises never get in this position with their most important player.

Maybe it has been realized that the organizations who caved to QB demands weren't really that well ran.

Because it’s up to the organization to make an offer and negotiate a deal he can’t refuse.

If not then be prepared for them to walk. And in this case it’s ultimately going to be over about 3 or million a year. Maybe less.

That's just silly- why don't you just give him the moon - he might ask for the stars as well

"Solid pieces" compared to what the current Cowboys offense looks like. Not comparable.

After Dak won rookie over the year I said that we should trade him as his value would never be higher and that he wouldn't progress as much as people think...pretty much bang on the money to my credit. I should be a GM.

You could write that on your resume? "I got Dak completely wrong, even though he won rookie of the year, I couldn't see the talent"

And when they ask you your future plans for the franchise you can give them your master plan. "Draft the next Aaron Rogers next year in the draft, if he doenst win the SB in in 2 years or wants big money, just cut him and start over"

Don't quit your day job before you go looking. LOL

Do the non-exclusive tag on Dak next season and try and get at least 1 high draft pick for him. Then do what you have to to get your new QB for 5 years. You have a bridge QB to handle chores until he's ready.
I'm not sure about this on a couple of fronts.

First, doesn't the non-exclusive tag mean a team would have to give up 2 first rounders, and if so, how many players are teams willing to give up that much for, especially since it also means they would have to negotiate a high dollar contract?

Second is that Dalton is only under contract for 1 season. Maybe we could still sign him for a reasonable deal, but next year he will also be available from the beginning of free agency for other teams to compete for. Obviously competition wouldn't put him in Dak's pay range, but it could be somewhat expensive for a mere bridge guy the team doesn't see as being capable of more than just "handling the chores".
