The luckiest back-to-back QB run in NFL history is very likely to be the Pats snagging Tom Brady in the 2000 sixth-round, riding him to 9 SBs and 6 Chips, only to immediately replace him with a hungry Cam Newton on a cheap one-year “prove it” deal — and with a young and cheap Jarrett Stidham waiting in the wings.

It is true though...14 years of a UDFA and a 4th rounder.

Say what you want about each, but the return has definitely been there, with not as much as a title game appearance to show for it.

That's pretty pathetic, but Jerry continues to play with his toy, and I'm not so convinced the kid is gonna be all that much better.

It's a horrible thought but its realistic.

Although OP is right........he's STILL damn good investment. A 4th round QB who's a top 10 that started every career game. Who wouldn't want that? At this point, we can't lose.......UNLESS we let him walk for nothing ( see Cousins ).

They already wasted both QBs that ship sailed. Now that the price tag went up significantly for Dak, the team has to take a hard look at production vs cap hit vs value. Great value from 2016-2019. But that's no longer the case.

Facts....

Since we do not have real contract numbers of offers we really don't know who screwed the pooch here. We have a good idea that Dak was offered a contract that made him the 2nd highest paid player in the NFL.

If it is a fact that he turned that down then the only one to blame here is Dak because he flat out is not worth that!

Facts:

You and I had a discussion over whether that rumored contract offer had a fair guaranteed amount. You crept out of the thread when confronted with comparative numbers showing the guaranteed amount was not in line with others.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Is anybody else feeling satisfaction over a rockport becoming the hating troll that he despises so much?

Has there ever been a bigger hypocrite?
No. I think he's a bigger fan that most around here. I've had my run ins with him, but I never questioned his random, unlike other pansies around here. No offense.

Dak troll still at it, don’t blame Jerry this is on greedy Dak and co.

He's not trolling--it's a fact. Like I've said in other posts, they would have already come out ahead if they gave Dak a deal before the 2019 season because he was only making $2 million and they can spread a lot of the cap into that year. Even the rumored $40 million per year extension would have only averaged out to $32 million a year. The Cowboys current offer is $35 million a year. A year from now it will take at the very least $37 million a year to get it done. Not getting this done a year ago was a terrible decision.

After all your "hater" postures on anything negative about the Cowboys we now see people are simply just haters to you if they disagree with what your vision of what the team is, not the success/failure of the team itself.
