OK so the Dallas Cowboys go on to win the division. Get a bye week. And eventually bring home a championship. Is it a tarnished season. Is it like beating a team that’s down with injuries. How will it be remembered in history

Actually earlier on GMFB Pete Schrager said Dallas will be considered contenders for getting to and possibly winning the SB.

Absolutely it would be tarnished and I guarantee the majority of the people who claim it wouldn’t be would do a 180 if Philthy or the 49’ers won it all.

They just don’t want to say it now because they think we have a legitimate shot at winning but once we lose they’ll get real quiet. I wish we had a poll where we could see everyone’s names who voted that it wouldn’t be tarnished and go back to them at the end of the season if Philthy wins and see what they have to say then. My guess is a lot of people wouldn’t answer because then they would have to acknowledge a rival team won a “legitimate” championship.

I think it depends on how many players and how many big named game changing players end up catching the virus and being out for weeks and hurting the teams chances. Imagine if we make the SB and the week before the game the opposing teams starting QB catches it and is out for the game and we win by 30 points. Don’t get me wrong I will take the ring and win but how can you look at that and how will others look at it. The team with lots of quality depth will likely win it all this year.

Let me put it this way: If Zeke or Dak, Cooper or Lamb, or any player or combination of players were to get sick, we'd be pissed off that they weren't careful, and we'd blame them for any losses. I don't see that as being any different than players not playing hard on every down, or making mental mistakes on the field.

If that's how we'd treat our own guys (which I think it is) why should we put an asterisk next to any wins or losses?

No one will care. It will be a celebrated championship and in 10 years no one will remember it was during this unique time

I think if we can make it through the season with out major breakouts, then maybe not. But look at baseball. They have had breakouts where 10 or more players on one team get it. Whom ever wins the series will be tarnished and will be a little imaginary mark next to it.. This maybe like the strike season.

There’s so many unknowns, what if half the games are canceled and half our remaining games were against two of the worst teams in the league (Giants and Warshington)? No one would have a problem with that.

On the other hand what if we played our division one game each and our four remaining teams were the likes of SF, Baltimore, NO, etc? The tears and conspiracy accusations would be flying.

The ewok shouldn’t go down due to immunity but if we played another team with someone who tested positive and half our starters were out for the following game I seriously doubt the people who are claiming teams should have more depth and only the strong survive would be saying the same thing when we lost.

Hell we still hear excuses for losing when we were missing just one starter and now that wouldn’t apply if it was a few starters at the same time?

If Brady or Brees are out for two weeks even if they feel fine that’s a huge difference. This season has the potential to do a lot more with luck than ever before which is why I think winning the SB would be tainted, whether we win or not.

Oh and....how about we HOPE we have that problem.

It would certainly answer many unanswered questions around here if nothing else.
