I Really Don't Get All The Negativity

It was a close game despite the Rams time of possession in the first half. Had Shultz ran his route at the proper depth on the 4th and 3 play, Dallas very likely converts there. They’d have a great chance to score on that drive.

Had the ref not thrown the OPI on Gallup, there’s a very good chance they win.

The main reason for complaint was how the Rams held the ball in the first half but they shored that up in the second half.

People rarely think a team looks good in a loss, so it isn’t surprising that they think it didn’t look good in Los Angeles. But the truth is the team wasn’t very far from victory against a well coached team that isn’t even two years removed from a super bowl appearance.

Thanks for the positivity, you're right some big overactions after week 1. We don't know much about the Rams either. We could have just lost to an NFC power house in a close game, or an average team that got lucky in week 1 against a team adjusting to a new system.

This week will be an important one for the Cowboys to prevent a bit of a hole, but regardless of the outcome the division won't be won or lost either. A slower 2-2 start wouldn't be a big surprise to me, but as this team comes together under the new coach and scheme I'm optimistic they will be in contention.

Years of frustration . I don’t think it’s the lack of success it’s because we have had so much winning and 5 Super Bowls

now cowboy fans expect it and it’s lacking.just think if you were a lions or browns fan

I get frustrated but im getting too old to trip about it too much

I’m glad I can still watch on sundays and cuss at them

This is a large part of the frustration. It’s hard to ask a fan base, who has been asked to be patient 25 years, to be patient while watching the same guy in the owners box call still calling all the shots while singing like Frank Sinatra, “I did it my way”.

Amen. Enjoy the weekend.

um they lay 16 games that the job at hand and its about law of averages, a complete season would be needed to make these judgements..after one 3 point loss its ignorant to make such ridiculous statements..

its why many spots have best of 7 and best of 5 playoff serious, law of averages.. you play them all and find out whos standing..

we were 3-5 season was over board sounded like this ready for top 3 pick and BAM 7-2 down the stretch beat Seatle got to second round.

again stop being ridiculous.. jeez

MM get to have 16 with this new staff and new team to him with no offseason and rash of injuries, its facts let the season play out FULLY!
This isn't "most sports", this is football which has never had a "best of" series. In the playoffs, it's just one match, the best team advances. Bur why are you talking about playoffs at all? That has nothing to do with the fat man's Cowboys. This isn't a team that wins, it's only a team good at finding different ways to lose. You're a fool if you need 16 games before figuring out what this team is.

I really don't get it. One week into the new regime in a season with a no OTAs, mini-camps or preseason and everyone is acting like the season is over. I rarely even go on the Zone anymore because all of the threads are doom and gloom. I understand that we've had 25 years of mediocrity and that we have an owner that can be an ******* and rub people the wrong way but, jesus, this is a new era with a new coach. And the people that are way down on Dak really sucks. I don't know if he's a 40 million dollar QB but I know that he has won alot of games for us and has a unique skillset and I'm glad that he has McCarthy to lead him to be even better. If Garrett was still the coach, I would be just as negative as the rest of ya but he isn't. When the Cowboys beat Atlanta at home and then go to Seattle and win there, there's gonna be alot of broken ankles from the people spreading the negativity right now. I thought Eagles fans really sucked but you people take it to a new level. Go Cowboys!!!
20+ years of piss poor on field product does that to a fan. Not hard to understand why someone would be negative.

You haven’t been here long enough to realize this board has been overtaken by a bunch of losers and quitters. The scum of the earth.

Someone has to counter the Jerry Jones fan boys who wave their pom poms - for free - no matter what. *hands you some Kool-Aid*

"Losers and quitters" bail after a season or two. After a quarter of a century of nothing - despite a half dozen head coaches and numerous personnel changes - losing confidence in the leadership of the organization is the only rational conclusion.

Wow. You must be JoeKing (been meaning to use that one!) Name calling always solves our problems. I'm sure you are metabolically healthy yourself. Give McCarthy a chance. It's one game into his tenure and he didn't even have the time that a normal new coach has.
MM had the same time every coach had this season to put his team together. He deserves no more and no less. He was the difference in that loss to the Rams, not his ill-prepared players. You are suggesting he should be given another chance to have the team lose, why? Atlanta will beat this fat man's team and then what? Do you think they can go to Seattle and return with a victory? lol, How much punishment are you a glutton for?

It's still a Garrett team and a Jerry culture.

Blowing out Atlanta at home is a signature Garrett win.

If that happens I'm not sure if Ill be more confident or even less.

Pandemic so need to keep Garrett offense.

Love that.

Blowing out Atlanta? I wouldn't get your hopes up. This team doesn't have Seattle's defense, Seattle's QB, or Seattle's coach.

I’m not a Jerry fan. He needs to get on his yacht and sail away. And yes, you’re a loser and a quitter after just 1 game.

If you don't think it's harder for a first year head coach to come in and put his program and get his player on the same page in a year where he doesn't have OTAs, preseason, etc., I can't help ya. For the record, there are 5 first year head coaches this year. 4 or them lost and the last one, Ron Rivera, should have lost if Doug Pedersen knew how to coach with a 17 point lead. And I don't fault him for going for it on fourth down after ten years of Garrett being ultra-conservative. I think this team will be much better as the season goes on, especially after we get Randy Gregorry and all the injured players back

If our offense doesn’t score 30 today or if our defense is as bad as week 1 and we are 0-2, you’ll start getting it.

The problem is we fans are suckers. We see the flashy weapons on offense, a few cheap 1-year FA deals, and a new coach with a skin on the wall, and we want to believe the media telling us we are among the most talented rosters in the NFL. Then we get disappointed and angry when we see it is all a lie.

Compared to other teams:

Top 10 in wr group.
Top 15 in QB.
Maybe top 15 in DL, remains to be seen.
Top 5 at RB.

OL, currently T Smith and Z Martin are top 5 on anyone’s list.
C, LG, RT aren’t even in the top 25.
TE group not in top 30.
CB’s not in top 25.
Safety Woods May be in top 25; other guy isn’t.
LBs certainly not in top 20 teams.

We are weak up the middle on Offense (C, G, FB), along with weak at TE and RT!
We are weak up the middle on defense (DT, MLB, S)....DTs still may improve.

Being weak up the middle is a bad thing, very bad. I fear we are not capable of defeating a good team unless they make several key mistakes and our offense plays at an incredibly high level.

because playing all 16 is the same as Best of Bro! get off the negative train and calling people fat, its show's your true nature..

the law of averages is the sole reason the best of was created vs the one game.. so in Football we still have 16 games to determine a true picture to determine the outcome and ACTUAL SUCCESS OR FAILURE OF THAT PARETICULAR TEAM..

got that Chief?! I BET NOT BECAUSE YOUR MIND DOESNT WORK THAT WAY IT SITS AN WAITS TO BE DEFENSIVE, RUDE, AND REACTIVE WITHOUT THINKING..GOT IT..

go crawl in ball in some dark corner and cry your self to sleep, most of us live in the real world where we can stay in the moment rather then in a fantasy world....

It wa sone game with new staff and bunch of new players and a rather large injury list that we lost by THREE on the road..yes its over OMFG everyone sux and it needs to be blown up..lmao

glad we got rid of Garrett so the same fans now can move on to anew target..look in the mirror you are the issue..

your own expectations have caused you this deep pain and over reaction that has you so irritated over a game, one loss..sad really..

he wont listen to reason its far too much common sense for a lot of Zoners , they like to complain and grip and call a season failure after ne 3point loss on the road.. the drown in their own negativity and hope they choke on it..lol
