It was a close game despite the Rams time of possession in the first half. Had Shultz ran his route at the proper depth on the 4th and 3 play, Dallas very likely converts there. They’d have a great chance to score on that drive.
Had the ref not thrown the OPI on Gallup, there’s a very good chance they win.
The main reason for complaint was how the Rams held the ball in the first half but they shored that up in the second half.
People rarely think a team looks good in a loss, so it isn’t surprising that they think it didn’t look good in Los Angeles. But the truth is the team wasn’t very far from victory against a well coached team that isn’t even two years removed from a super bowl appearance.
Thanks for the positivity, you're right some big overactions after week 1. We don't know much about the Rams either. We could have just lost to an NFC power house in a close game, or an average team that got lucky in week 1 against a team adjusting to a new system.
This week will be an important one for the Cowboys to prevent a bit of a hole, but regardless of the outcome the division won't be won or lost either. A slower 2-2 start wouldn't be a big surprise to me, but as this team comes together under the new coach and scheme I'm optimistic they will be in contention.
