Didn’t Dak QB the only Miss St team to ever be ranked #1?
not sure about that, and that may be possible.Dak elevated those teams big time. He was the reason Dan Mullin became a household name. Best thing he ever did was recruit Dak.

Dak brought the team back, because our Def is garbage.

I’m pretty sure without looking it up. I follow college football . Those were some really good Bulldog teams. I recall watching Prescott quite a bit. He was one of best QB in SEC at that time.

If I recall correctly they lost to Bama after being ranked #1. And didn’t win the conference. But that was probably Miss St best team ever.

but not from any fault of his.”
I have to disagree on this statement. His 1st quarter fumble that lead to Atlanta points was a part of what made the successful onside kick required. Dak had a very good game and a key part of why they won, but he can’t be absolved of responsibility for any of his errors.

No, just stick to the rules is all I ask Mr CERN.

I can insult Or attack anything Cowboy related. You can’t insult me personally . Only attack my message and content of.
practicing persiflage is not the same thing as attacking. i do not attack. the blue footed booby is one of my favorite birds.

Mr CERN. We appreciate your contribution.

But I’m assuming in these other 440 examples since 1933 the team scoring 39 didn’t give up 40. Until now.
this is the only one that counts.

Dallas still had to seize their opportunities when presented, and they did..they executed when needed and ATL did not. Nothing was handed to us. WE SEIZED ON IT.

That would require the agenda-driven Prescott and McCarthy critics to actually give them their due credit, which they cannot do.

I’ve seen nothing but praise for Daks outstanding performance. Thank goodness the Falcons provided the onside kick gaff or it would have been in a losing effort. But he did take advantage of the opportunity . Well done .

And as I mentioned in my Riverboat Mike thread he owes much gratitude to Daks performance . It helped save this team from an awful 0-2 hole. Hopefully it will continue against more Elites teams beginning this Sunday.

As for Riverboat Mike his horrid 4th down decisions he appeared to double down on and continues to hamper the Cowboys. Baffling decisions. And going for 2 point conversion that early instead of only needing one possession to extend the game.

This could have easily been a major dumpster fire. Thanks to one of the greatest gift horses we’ve seen in Cowboys history we avoided the 0-2 start.

I’m all fairness, this is hardly *the* epic collapse that most people will think of when discussing the epic collapses of the Atlanta Falcons

Critics have to remain objective while holding their subjects feet to the fire. And give praise when it’s due.

We can’t always rely on the cheerleaders to accurately provide an objective view.

Of course forums are often filled with fans just here to cheer on their teams with other fans but there’s also many fans who use this platform to spin their narrative and perspective. It’s actually the driving force in social media.

Fortunately we faced a team bad enough to find a way to lose. And a coaching staff worse than ours thus far. Quinn was already on the hot seat. He might not last the season.

Of course the Falcons are abysmal, especially their defense

The real harm inflicted is fans overhyping the team and the quarterback

If we are to believe that the Cowboys are a “ championship caliber” team, this contest should never have been close. The ineptitude of the offense early in this game made this game a nail biter

Sadly, just like last season, some in this forum will fail to think critically and put the strength of opposition into account. And like last season, some of us will wait until this team can string together a string of wins agains REAL competition before drinking the Kool-aid.

Honestly I didn’t think of that when I created this thread. But in all fairness it wasn’t my idea. I copied it from the Atlanta Constitution which you’d think they’d have a better perspective. And these were the words they chose.

I’m interested to read your take on the game Coach. How’d you like Riverboat Mikes big gambles again on 4th down?
I thought he made Coaching 101 mistakes in back to back games and I am beginning to wonder about his mindset with regards to risk taking. Did he get crossways with Rodgers in GB because he played it too conservatively? Remember that argument on the sideline with Rodgers? That was over his play calling.

Did he sit there last year vowing that if he got another chance he'd be more of a gambler? I've never seen a HC with his level of experience take these risks and the 2 point conversion was against the book and those defending it wouldn't be if not for a lucky onside kick. The success ratio of onside kicks is ridiculously low unless you're playing a stupid team with a poor STC.

The other thing I wonder about these risks, he's not calling the plays. The calls on that 4th and 3 and the 2 point conversion are both questionable to me.

The team is 1-1 but in my mind because there you are not what you're record says you are there, they are 0-2. That D is giving up an average of 29.5 points and the O averaging 28.5.

They were a lucky team yesterday. They made mistakes in ball protection and game management but were able to overcome that through not giving up and having a bad team as an opponent. This next one isn't as stupid as the one they got yesterday. They make teams pay for their mistakes.

If I were the owner, he wouldn't have made the trip home. He was hired to fix the D, he's a joke. He was caretaker of the SEA D and lucked into a job as a HC.

Could not agree more. Every Falcons fan new they were gonna lose the game when his enabler Arthur Blank arrived on the sidelines......they were doomed

Some people confuse good with lucky. The Cowboys were the proverbial blind hog finding acorns yesterday. They made enough mistakes to lose 3 games.

However, I do not fault anyone for using that as a reason to get off the pity train they were on after LA.
