Worst game ever for a LB?

I saw it live. It was terrible. Pure doggy doo. He consistently filled wrong gap. Not once could/did he stack and shed. He took wrong angles. He got sucked in on every misdirection play. Why did we get rid of Bill Callahan again? He sure showed ole Jerry and the boys that was a huge mistake.

The dude had two tackles against a running team at WLB. Two tackles folks!!!!

the WLB should make all the tackles like Lee use too.
He spends 90% of the game standing around avoiding contact....those 2 tackles were generous by the stat keeper. If he does hit someone, it is usually high and he gets tossed off and just lays on the ground. He has become the King of Loafers...

Then he gets stupid face mask penalties

What did jaylon do wrong here?

I'm over how bad Jaylon is. He is not good at football and I'm numb to his play at this point. However, what bothers me more then that is we have a guy playing a lot of snaps that is 100x worse than Jaylon @ football ( and that is saying something ) and he wears #28.

What's amazing, and probably a reason why he thinks he's "productive" is that he is top-5 in tackles through 4 weeks. But unlike the other LBs on that list, Jaylon has an embarrassing Combo/Solo tackle ratio. You won't find the next 20 defensive players with more combo tackles than Solo tackles. Jaylon just prefers to chase plays from behind and jump onto an already tackled player.

Oh watch out. Don't you go talkin' about Worley, By God! I got lambasted for suggesting that we desperately need Brown/Chido to come back into the lineup. It's straight-up bizarro World with a few of these posters.

Why did Callahan leave? I’m not remembering the specifics.

He was essentially forced out of Dallas. He was stripped of play-calling duties in 2014 and then blocked from interviewing with the Browns and Ravens for their offensive coordinator jobs. When his contract expired in Dallas after 2014, he fled as soon as possible. Gave the job to Scott Linehan. The half man half genius pegasaurus of a coach.

I think Jaylon broke the entire defense last year against the Eagles. Everyone else was killing themselves on defense that day. They may not have been the most skilled but they were giving everything they had. All except for Jaylon who to me stood out like crazy. I personally think that a number of other players after watching the film together pretty much packed it in. Our new free agents quickly realized that no one here was even trying and they joined suit. The team is broken at it's core. This will not be easily fixed.

1 part Garrett and 1 part Jerry.

The Jones' stripped Garrett of play calling duty after yet another abysmal 8-8 2012 season and gave it to Callahan in 2013, who was up in the booth. Jerry basically placated it all by saying "We feel that Jason should be allowed to fully focus on managing the game".

Later in the 2013 season, it was suspected that Garrett reverted back to calling the plays (like many suspected of happening last year, too). Unhappy with getting jerked around by Garrett, Callahan put some feelers out to other teams that off season. Big Daddy put the kibosh on that and made Callahan live out the last year of his contract as the "running game coordinator" while one of Garrett's former Miami chums in Linehan became the "Passing Game Coordinator". After the final game of the 2014 season, Callahan was seen outside of the Cowboy's Stadium burning all of his team gear in a 55-gallon drum, followed by shaving his head of all hair and then rendered a one-finger salute towards the team facilities before taking off on foot in an Eastward direction. <Cameras peel back from the Stadium parking lot to reveal Garrett spying through the mini-blinds with a smirk on his red face. He had successfully sabotaged yet another Coach.>

It is remarkable. The coaching staff, to main its integrity, needs to do something about this.
Nope.

I said this in another post.

Either the staff doesnt see it, Jerry wont allow it, or the staff doesnt want to make Jerry look bad.

One of them is true

How about this:
Staff definitely sees it, Jerry might allow it but the staff is too afraid to even approach the subject of benching one of Jones' favorite reclamation projects.

I don't even know if McClay has the stones to whisper in the Jones' ears about what he surely sees. He evaluates tape on pro-players for a living, he has to see this crap.

I'm going to show my x's and o's ignorance here, but I noticed Jaylon seems to spend a considerable amount of time bracing to hit whoever is trying to block him... by the time the contact was made and he'd gotten past the hit the play had already gone past him. Would he not be better served to try and avoid/get around the blocks instead of taking them head on every time? I feel really dumb asking this but noticed it alot yesterday.

He's just not fluid at all. Add the lack of instinct and you have what you have. He's a reactionary player. And like others have said, the dude looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. He's jacked to the gills for a LB yet avoids any and all contact with blockers. He plays the run like CB out there.
