Don’t bank on Dak settling for low 30 mil per year or a 4 year deal
Agreed. Not on a 4 year deal, but Dak would accept low $30 mil per year on a 5-6 year deal, especially now due to this injury. 5-6 year deal with a good percentage guaranteed would be security against any future injury setbacks.

I don't think I've ever seen the entire team come over to the cart like that. Before the cart pulled out, one of the last guys talking to him was Justin March, a backup on defense who certainly isn't in any of the position meetings with Dak. That and Garrett coming over really tells you all you need to know about Dak's leadership on this team.

I could see that happening. They weren't far apart last time, if they had another day they apparently would have signed a deal. Watson's contract may give Dak's agent an argument to argue for more but this will give the team an argument for less. I don't think either side will do it, they will just sign for what they would have this year.

I feel that his agent was the reason Dak held out. Before the deadline, he was in their office trying to work out a deal.

I did wish that they did. They agreed to the amount. But the Cowboys wanted one more year.

I think he's do something like 2 years for 60-65 million

Team friendly for the cowboys and it puts him on track to re-sign in 2023 when the cap is suppose to skyrocket. He'd still make 2020-2022 almost 100 million + would be able to resign during peak money/cap

BTW, if Carson Wentz got carted off you wouldn't see the entire team coming out on the field to talk to him. You would see three guys and they all would be saying "Hey, that 500 bucks you owe me, I know its a bad time.... but......"

Yikes! Here's hoping Dak's injury is the exception and that he heals quickly and fully.

I think he will recover somewhat quickly and be ready for next season possibly. Problem is Dalton could play very well and basically be the Nick Foles to Carson Wentz type deal.

Not sure why that would be a problem. Dak and Wentz are different guys. Some for Dalton and Foles. I hope Dak come back strong, but glad the FO invested in a real backup. We were never going to get Lawrence anyway.

It hurt seeing him being carted off
Yeah it did. I got some tears in my eyes when he was being carted off. I don't even care about the game, or even the rest of the season. I'm sure we'll go on with Dalton but I don't care tonight. I just want Dak to be pain free and healthy again. The look in his eyes and the expression on his face just killed me. He'll be back, I just feel bad for him that he has to go through this. Screw the game, the contract, the season and everything else. The only thing I care about tonight is Dak and his overall well being.

Praying for #4!!!!!!! Get well soon!!!!!!

He's a special guy man. I said it on another thread but when people ask what is Dak good at.....just see the look on everyones face while he was on that cart.
Yep, even the other team was out there. I got a lot of respect for Garrett in that situation. I've seen bad injuries in my time but I've never seen 2 whole teams look so distraught. It just sucks all the way around.

I just gotta wonder when he comes back how affected he will be. Dez never made a full comeback with his foot injury
As a QB I doubt it will affect him nearly at all outside of confidence. Rolling around with bodies flying at your feet, etc. As long as he can plant with and throw he should be fine.

They would probably be clapping if he ever got carted off.

It wouldn't actually be a problem you got it, and yes Dak and Wentz are different human beings, same for Dalton and Foles. Question is - could Dalton actually do what Foles did? That was my premise.

Yeah based on him essentially being a pocket passer........I don't think he'll have any physical limitations......
Dak was always a pocket passer since entering the league anyway

ranked top3-5 from a clean pocket in passer rating back to back years. This injury won’t effect him at all pretty much. Deshaun watson blew out both ACLS and is still amazing

30 million may be too low.

He’s better than watson who is getting 39 million on a short 4 year contract with two blown ACLS. Commanders wanted to pay Amari Cooper starting quarterback money. more than jimmy g and Derek Carr.
