Was thinking Haley was on to something until the supposedly Brady comments, don't know how critical you can be about a quarterback who's led his team to 6 SB wins, with 2 more appearances.
And as to no. 5, Haley's been retired from the Cowboys for 24 years, seriously doubt he has much contact with current Cowboys players.

The story may be true, but to me it smacks of somebody making this up. Haven't been able to find the actual podcast. If someone can find it please post a link and I'll be willing to believe it...

So Dak blurts out to Haley about another players interaction with the coach? That doesn't sound like Dak at all.

Besides, Haley is bi-polar, taking anything he has to say I'd take with a big dose of salt...
No it's nothing to do with Dak, he's one guy we can rely on. He helps Charles with his charity sometimes

love it...what i wouldnt give for someone on the team to have some haley level craziness and go off on them...
A player grandstanding and pitching hissy fits like Haley was famous for wouldn't be helpful. As long as we're fetishizing guys who were unprofessional and had famous incidents that should make them unemployable, do you also want someone to pull a Michael Irvin and literally try to cut one of our players' throats? Or pull a Josh Brent and literally kill one of our players?

Pretty much what I've said.......can't do anything now. But after the season......blow up the entire D ( except Hill, Diggs and LVE ) and rebuild it. Frankly, I expect MM to do just that. Would not surprise me at all to see a min 6-7 new starters on this D for 2021.

I would even let LVE walk, yea I like his intensity but he is never going to finish a whole season

The writing is on the wall.

Dak ain’t getting resigned
Players will be cut.
coaches will be retained
Draft will be hyped
We struggle to regain the level of mediocrity we have come to love.
Jerry still rakes in the cash

Always enjoy hearing from Haley.

Jaylon Smith got paid way too early for a small amount of success. It's a nice comeback story, but he's just never going to be the player people hoped.

As for D-Law, I'm tired of the excuses for him. He's done just about squat since getting paid. That's just too much a coincidence.

LVE's injury woes are a shame, but I still hold out some hope. Plus, it's not like he's eating up a bunch of cap (yet).

Wish we could have at least seen this D-Line with McCoy. Meanwhile, Dontari Poe is a ridiculous flop signing.

This team's unwillingness to invest in safeties is just indefensible at this point. They're such a liability. If I was an opposing team, I'd just send a WR running straight down field every single play.

And if I never see Worley on the field ever again, I'd die a happy man.

Their stance on Safeties is exactly how you let a team blow you out when the opposing QB only had 9 completions.

Do you expect MM to blow up the entire D or would it be Jerry? Jerry wont allow his pet cats to be "blown" out the door, Jaylon etc. Changing the roster without changing the culture will amount to a net loss.

1st off you are out of line bringing Josh Brent into the picture and making an inaccurate directional claim that he "killed" a player....he was the driver in an accident in which one his teammates died but that is a totally separate situation and has zero comparison to the point i am referencing - i am surprised you are tying to spin that in here honestly, you know better.

As for Haley and Irvin - they had edge, they were mean and tough, they didn't take crap and they sure as heck wouldn't have tolerated this kind of lay down crap....and that is exactly what this team is missing and the exact problem with the culture in Dallas. Also the "unemployable incidents" happened in a different time so they didn't have to watch themselves the same way players do today....do you honestly not think there aren't some insanely crazy and violent players on other teams out there now that have adjusted to be watched constantly?

We need raw and angry, we need testosterone fueled maniacs that don't like losing and cant stand it. This is professional football, not curling, and its a very violent sport - we need some more violence in this team, its soft and weak

Interesting interview with Charles Haley on the Michael Irvin Podcast today. As you would expect with Mike quite a bit of nonsense but when they talked about the Cowboys in depth, Haley had some very strong views including:

1) It's not the coaches, it's the players they are gutless.
2) D Law is no leader
3) Jaylon has not recovered from his foot injury
4) Dalton was a poor signing and has never shown he can handle the spotlight.
5) Recounted a bizarre story from last season when a Cowboys coach on DEF tried to explain to a player (who I think is still on the team) what he needed to improve and the player just walked out of the room.
6) Thinks nothing can be done for this season, need a complete overhaul of personnel

He then had some critical comments to say about Tom Brady and when he was with the Patriots organisation.

Well worth a listen

Haley was a nut but he always told it like it is.

I would love for Jerry to bring in Haley and others like him to bark at these slackers and keep them in line

94 not afraid to bring the truth. On defense the players are 100% overrated. No question. Having said that, never been a fan of Nolan.

Actually not that hard......with the exception Diggs, all the secondary players are free agents.
Already said I'd keep LVE, Diggs, Hill and maybe Aldon Smith. DLaw and Jaylon Smith's contract makes them keepers but NOT necessarily starters. Both would have to earn their 2021 job. We have been trying to get this D right every since Wade Phillip was fired, going through several DCs.
