One has nothing to do with the other. Are you trying to insinuate that McCarthy did not want Lamb? Lamb is one of the best players in the 2020 draft without a doubt. Lamb was the right choice.

If McCarthy did not want Lamb then that speaks volumes about McCarthy in a bad way.

you are really lost!

It feels like there is very little accountability with the Dallas Cowboys organization but I just can't quite seem to figure out why that is. I wonder if it could be coming from the top.

Loyalty is and always has been #1 when it comes to Big Mac.

He demands loyalty from his underlings, which is why he surrounds himself with a staff that he knows will never challenge him.

And Big Mac has always been supremly loyal to those who write his paychecks.
I cannot name one HC that isn't like that. Parcells wouldn't even allow his staff to speak to the media. Ever watch Nick Saban and his coaching staff?

I know you don't like him but I cannot point out too many people supremely disloyal to those that write their paychecks that are successful.

Bosses are like customers. The customer isn't always right but they are the customer. Lane Kiffin forgot that when he was with the Raiders and called his boss out on one of the worst decisions he ever made as he was making it, Jamarcus Russell. After the last game the guy's butt had already earned it's own zip code. Kiffin was right and shortly unemployed.

There is the clear line in the chain of command in the NFL and coaches like Kiffin, Harbaugh and even Jimmy Johnson have forgotten that.

Preliminary Damage Control.
In as much as Jerry is not the most pro active and more reactive he is setting himself up well here.

On the one hand, if this year's poor season could be Jerry press manipulated to imply that the loss of Dak and subsequent offensive drop off should have been better coordinated with a seasoned backup, they could say the inexperience of Kellen Moore at such a pivotal position as OC did not meet expectations and to return playcalling authority back to head coach Mike McCarthy is in the best interest of the team moving forward. Moore may or may not be released and serve as this year's scapegoat that way.

On the other hand to the other extreme,

Jerry could go the other way and say that Moore had been identified by himself personally as a possible future HC candidate very early and that coach McCarthy, coach Nolan and staff never were able to establish that necessary bridge to a shared team vision so with that being said,
I introduce to you the next Head Coach of your Dallas Cowboys,
"Kellen Moore."

This way he's got both bases covered.
He's not an entirely senile old man. Didn't make his billions at being a poor business man, lol.
If it's not a problem, why is the media defending it?

You're right, Jerry is an astute businessman on a level most would not conceive of, including me. He's on a whole nuther level.

Why does this matter so much to some of you either way? It's not like the offense was the issue on this team before any injuries. I'm more concerned about how Mike Nolan was forced on us fans as being called a defensive coordinator.

 Sooo...The fanbase with the worst attitude in the NFL has now infected the players to have a bad attitude and start complaining about the coaching that never coached them to repeatedly turn the ball over yet they keep doing it anyway. Somehow KM is a problem and MM is to blame for letting JJ twist his arm to keep KM? Really?

Why would anyone have to be forced to keep a great young OC that just lit up the NFL with the #2 rated passing offense in the NFL his rookie campaign? Dak and the offense blossomed under Moore. They took it to a all time NFL historical record setting pace with Dak this year before he got hurt.

Oh no....... Jerry is throwing his new coach under the bus. This does not bode well for MM's future in Dallas..... or Kelen Moore's.

I would think it bodes very well for KM.
KM will be Garrett II.

This is what I have always thought as well but still fun to see it play out and come here to see all the responses.

Lots of people really are naive or just want to believe in change when that change is actually no change at all.

It is a cool story. I had never heard it. I don't see a joke or anything to laugh about. But, what does this have to do with Jerry forcing anyone to do anything, especially McCarthy and forcing OC Moore on him?

Lamb wanted #10. Jerry asked Lamb to wear #88 for his dear friend also named Lamb who wore #88 at Arkansas. I don't see Jerry forcing Lamb to do it. I think it is nice that Lamb changed his number in honor of Jerry's request. I also thought I read somewhere that Dez wanted Lamb to wear #88 in honor of the historic players who wore that number.
