From a 10 yard depth? No.. not really. A lot of blitz pickups are when the LB is showing blitz near the LOS.
A lot of times LBs try to disguise it so they don't get right into the line. I'm guessing it's probably 50/50.

In general, it's clear Zeke has some warts to his game.

In this case, he was in a position that very few RB's would win.
In his rookie year, Zeke stones that guy. He used to be destructive blowing up LB's blitzing. It is clear to me Zeke has cashed in his chips.

Thats a 240 pound linebacker running untouched for 10 yards with a full head of steam, most RBs are going to lose in that situation.
Block him low. Take him out at the knees, not standing straight up. Poor technique.

Zeke is just an above average back at this point. I know some of you are struggling to admit that. It’s tough when you put your faith in a guy and he disappoints. You can’t admit to yourself reality.

I get it. I’ve done it with players too. But admitting reality with a player take such a weight off your shoulders where you no longer have to come up with bizarre reasons to not admit the truth.

I try to look at it from another perspective. If Elliott played for Philly or NY what would we think? We’d think those teams were dumb for paying this much money to an overrated TB.

Just looks like these guys gave up in MM honestly. I’ve seen zeke make better attempt then that. The players are speaking through the play.

one bad block vs how many other good ones ? .....but continue with the dart throws ....

$15 million/yr to be a decent pass blocker is good enough for you, huh? Got it.

Some people defend players to the death and I don’t understand it. Your loyalty means nothing to them — their bank account is what they’re driven by.

Zeke got trucked by being totally passive. He just stood there waiting for the blow.
They showed a rear view during the broadcast. Zeke was not able to even see the linebacker coming until the last second. He barely got over to get in his way. Not enough time to set himself for the impact.

Anyone who wants to pretend Zeke is suddenly afraid or avoiding contact is trying to back into a negative narrative.

Moose pointed out that he was eying two defenders coming his direction and seeing who the o line would pick up, by that time it was too late for him to adjust to Holcomb but go ahead.
I heard this also and they showed this from a different view during the broadcast.

Good luck getting these people to accept the truth. They have their pitchforks out and need to execute everyone at this point..... just watch.

Why shouldn’t Zeke be “executed”? He’s the highest paid TB in football and he’s barely above average right now. He’s turning the ball over, he lacks HR ability, he looks sluggish at times, etc.

When will you guys admit he’s not the same player from 4-5 years ago?

He’s becoming such a liability, in many areas.

You watch RBs around the league, and it becomes even more obvious how slow Zeke is. He has zero burst and even worse, is now turnover prone.

Add that to his hands made of stone and getting absolutely blown up in pass protection... what are we paying him for?

You missed the point. Most likely on purpose so you can argue.

This thread is about his pass protection on a given play. The angry nerd mob jumps in incorrectly saying Zeke missed the block for all the wrong reasons.
A few posters clarified what actually happened on that play.

I won't speak for others even though you wish to put everyone in these little categories you can use to frame others viewpoints for them.
Is Zeke the same player as 4 years ago? Nope. Is he our problem and the reason we suck? Nope.
Am I foolish enough to believe Zeke should be as productive behind the worst offensive line in the NFL as we was behind the best offensive line in the NFL? Of course not. That seems to be a job you already have taken.

At one time he was the best in the business at pass protection, but I cannot defend him anymore.
He doesnt need you defending him I am sure. But maybe you can learn what actually happened on that play so you can defend yourself against sounding like you have no idea what you are watching.
