Do you take Sewell or trade down with a haul of picks for defense?
I don't think you guys are factoring Jerry's inability to get fair value in trades.

The Jerry Tax is real.

Jerry even had his analytics department make up their own draft pick value chart that reflects the (poor) value Jerry typically gets or pays in trades. No lie.

As much as I like Parsons, if you don’t have the defensive linemen in front of him he will be neutralized. I see only 3 blue chip prospects that you take no matter what Lawrence, Fields, and Pewell. The quarterbacks free up space to improve the defense through free agency or player trades. Pewell makes our offense unstoppable. We better not win another game.

I just don't think you can pass on this guy if he's available. He's arguably the best LT prospect to come out in the last decade based off what I've read/watched so far.

We've got 2 OT's that have been injured, Smith is fairly close to retiring and so it gives us our LT of the future. I also think you can move Collins over to OG if you have to which would give us our best 5 at OL immediately.,

I'd love to go defense, but I don't think there's a player at his caliber that will be available...Parson included.

I'm all for an Olineman.

I know we need defense but you take what the draft gives and if we have a shot at a franchise Left Tackle you look at it as a 10 year plan.

I know people like Micah Parsons.. I haven't watched much of him yet but if we draft top 5 he would have to be some kind of player to validate that pick.

How many transcendent LB's are actually out there?

LVE looked like he was on his way to being that his rookie year but we haven't seen that guy since.

Parsons may be a pro bowl player but i wouldn't draft a LB in the top 5,those guys have very short NFL lifespan.

This would be my plan.
Hopefully a desired qb falls in our laps and get as much as possible for him. At the trade deadline I’d love to see us be very active to get draft picks.

If Penei Sewell fell in Dallas lap, by all means pull the trigger but I wouldn't force this selection by trading up or losing picks.

We could get Landon Dickerson from Alabama (My favorite lineman) who can play Guard/Center with a nasty mean streak in the 2nd or 3rd round and be as good as an upgrade.

We can’t draft a linebacker until we get some defensive tackles but I love Parsons. But the fans will crap on him when Trysten Hill gets washed into him. I am on the Pewell train if we get the third pick.

Came to say the same thing as Cnu... Sewell is a once-a-decade player. Seriously, run down the list of Top 10 drafted tackles since 2011 and see how many had better college tape than Sewell. And you can't say we don't need a tackle.

I haven't watched Parsons yet, but I need to. I hear the draftniks saying he's a once a decade type player at linebacker as well, but LB's a pretty low value position in the grand scheme of things, so you're really going to have to sell me on a top 5 pick.
