The Cowboys issues started when they decided to draft party animal Zeke over the safety Jalen Ramsey. Dallas defensive coaches and scouts.

Then after acting like a fool for three years, Zeke decides he wants to pay back the Joneses by holding out.

Then DLaw decides to not get surgery on his shoulder until he gets long term contract.

The Joneses panic and sign Jaylon even though he had one good season out of three.

Then Cooper decides I want 20 million a season and he was good with playing with the tag.
Finally Dak plays great for three games at the start of the season and decides 100 million guaranteed is not good enough.

The Joneses bend over to the players and the rest of the players see it. The Joneses need to get rid of everybody and start over.

The 49ers post Jim Harbough would be the type of rebuild I'm looking at.

2 awful seasons followed by Kyle Shanahan being appointed as HC along with John Lynch as GM. They had two further losing seasons whilst utilising their premium picks over those losing seasons. They reached the SB last season and are built to contend for the foreseeable future.

They had a plan and are executing it.

Another example is the Raiders. They haven't been as successful as the 49ers yet but you can see the long term plan. They were willing to give Jon Gruden 2 years to clear the decks and crucially bring in the right characters. They are now in a position to genuinely compete in a tough division.

McCarthy was a horrific hire - anyone who understands football knew that he was a dinosaur well past his sell by date. Aaron Rodgers clearly carried him but peoples' dislike of Aaron Rodgers blinkered their judgement of McCarthy.

We need a dynamic HC and need to give him two years to clear the decks looking at the model of the 49ers and Raiders.

Problem is a lot of these guys were just recently locked down.

I hate this team. I hate it. I said before they paid these guys I hated it. Now they have paid them all besides Dak and are just locking us into mediocrity.

We pay guys just because some other team paid their guy.

We never win squat and we pay our guys like they are Superbowl champions and we wonder why they tune out and fail! We reward failure!

We want to pay Dak like he has had post season success! He has 1 playoff win and is demanding a 4 year deal on his terms!

I hate calling people entitled but my gosh this team is so entitled it's beyond imagination.

Win squat.. No jewelry. No rings.. Get big contracts and treated like rock stars.

You'll get a ton of fans who applaud it too. They want these guys to get that money. They want Zeke to get paid 2 years before his deal is up. They want Dak Prescott to get paid like he has won a Superbowl.

Byron Jones? Screw him.. He's only been our best defensive player since switching to corner.. Nahh.. We need to pay Amari Cooper 20 million a year because that's what good teams do right? They invest a ton into WR's? Screw your top 5 corner.
Been preaching bad build model for years Catch17,, but fans want to just buy,,, Jerry has brain washed the masses,,, as long as I invest in a spark,, it might turn into a flame...
Wrong...
Number 1 basic successful franchise rule in today game.
Never pay a second contract on any RB, dont care how good they were under first contract.
If you fail to adhere to that rule than you are already behind the rest of the league when you have to pay franchise QBs on their 2nd contract over 40 million per.
Its early talent recognition that is void on this team,, we actually draft pretty well, but this team invests heavy in failures like Jaylon, Tank... why do we call him that, he is anything but deserving of that name.... Zeke.. and about to make another huge mistake with Dak.
Cant keep piling up those bad deals.

Rebuild or not , nothing will change as long as it’s the same incompetent builders.

Dude, I'd love for Lawrence to be here. But there's no way we out-suck the Jets. I don't see how they get a win this year. Adam Gase makes Jason Garrett look like a Hall Of Fame head coach.
We could have the 2nd pick though and Justin Fields very well may be a better pro than Lawrence. I hate saying that because as you can see, by my avatar, I’m a Clemson fan.

We still have 11 games to play anything can happen. Darnold is playing for his career. The Jets almost beat Buffalo, they could beat Miami and New England in New York. I just don’t see us winning another game with this defense and Dalton/DiNucci at quarterback.

some of these maybe true...but one thing is abundantly clear. every defensive signing has been bad. every defensive contract handed out has been bad. none of the defensive players paid or drafted are working out.

why? IMHO, Jerry likes shiny stuff. shiny, bright stuff sells tickets. sells jerseys. passes defended don't sell jersey. good run defense up the middle don't sell jersey's. so his whole mentality is geared towards offense the shiny, jersey selling part of the team. all you have to do is think back to when he was ready to draft Johnny Manziel. he was thinking how many jersey's could I sell, from a player who would be on the bench, but man wouldn't texas people just gobble up those jersey's.

and subsequently, the whole organization has become about that shiny, bright, jersey selling part of the team. everyone thinks offense. why Zeke over Ramsey? its obvious. and if you look at the team, the offensive players that got contracts are at least paying off on their contracts (or close). Martin, Collins, Smith, Zeke (ehhh), Dak, Cooper..... but Lawrence, Jaylon, LVE (injury history), Hill, Taco, etc. none of the defensive players are paying off. how is it that we can find a Schultz or Gallup in the middle of the draft, but haven't hit on any defensive players anywhere in the draft.

its the organizational mindset. its the organizational culture.

Agree but we got massive problems.

WE have no cap space after Dak is signed.

The players we paid are aging and might give us 1 more good year if they can all stay healthy and play well.

Paying Dak locks this thing down into mediocrity for certain so we may not get the draft picks needed to do anything but stay mediocre.

Dallas has huge problems. It's just a reality. We need to lose and we need to cut some guys.

That's why I say the best thing that could happen is drafting Trevor Lawrence somehow.

If we rebuild Dam might walk, or we might let him go. So we don't have to worry about an over priced QB, who is mediocre, leading a bunch of young guys.
