Yes. Qbs are easy to find. Just draft one or sign one. It’s simple. They always work out well and lead the league on passing yards.

Dalton is great like everyone said. Good call.
Truth. The hater theory is we would have capital to build a team. You know, just like did the last 4+ years, lol.

just because zeke is the problem doesnt make him worth 40 mill
Do you think replacing a guy that was leading the league in passing is easy or hard?

Can we get someone else that will (not can possibly) do that? Put a percentage on your opinion of how possible that is.

past few years play calling was atricious...Linehan...OMG, TV announcers were making fun of him every game....predictable offense.....and last year he had to deal with a rookie OC, with all of 2 total years of NFL coaching experience.....what would you expect....and MM is turning into a pumpkin right in front of our eyes. I can't remember a worse coaching game in my life of watching the cowboys...its like he was handing the game to washington on purpose

Here in lies the question:

The cowboys were very healthy last year and 8-8. This year they are unhealthy and bad.

If you pay dak top qb money you are locked in and:
1. Everything was play calling last year
2. Everything is injuries this year
3. Dak has to play better than he has played yet, and make up for at best a mid of the pack defense
4. Hit on defensive draft picks and player development so big that it somehow takes them to the next tier

Question:
What is the cowboys reason for bad play the last 2 seasons, and if you strap yourself into most likely the highest paid qb in the league or near it, what are the improvements that take you to the superbowl, that you don't already have?

it amazes me that people STRONGLY defend Dak like he's their player. I think we can agree that we should be looking for a game changer at all positions, including QB.
We were leading the league in passing yards with Dak. Now we aren’t without Dak.

Doesn’t that equate to game changing?

It always amazes me how some fans pretend there is no salary cap.
In Dak-world the cap doesn't exist.
Dak or bust with some here and the Cowboys are a non-factor.
You know this really isn't about Dak or the game of football as the love they have for Dak is based on non-football factors that live in their deprived and confused souls.
Keep the faith Cowboy brothers the Dak-Mafia ends this spring!

We had to cut Jones in order to sign two garbage DT's and a clown Safety.
No we didn't. We could have kept and extended Jones. Our brilliant staff decided against it.

where is this $40M figure come from? I thought it was $35...no 40, next week 45 and by christmas its 65!!!

and the difference is right in front of your face......41-16....in other games he played with this same personnel, we scored 30+....he is the one that gave us a chance to at least be in the game. not be over by halftime.

and good luck finding a 28M QB in FA that can take you to the superbowl...when you do, drop me a line....
this game was 17-13 at the half. The problem wasnt the qb, or even zeke, it was MM and his game mgmt, and kellen and his moronic play calling.
you cant overcome the 4th down call at your own 30, or the fake punt dbl reverse on 4th and 10 ! also around the 30.

your just giving the game away doing that dumb stuff, and even if dak were playing or we had rogers or wilson, you cant overcome the bad decisions like those.
Then throw in kellens bad play calling especially in red zone, and it doesnt matter who the qb is.

Now on topic, paying dak will if he gets back to the form he had, which wont be easy, he isnt good enough to overcome the 2 stooges lol.
So why pay a guy 35 to 40 mil , if your still not going to be a contender?

Then on the other hand he would make the team maybe not so bad, but is that worth all the money?

What dallas needs to do is concentrate on building a great defense, then once that is done focus on the offense.
But that wont happen because the other 2 stooges, the jones boys constantly focus on offense.

As fans, we like the op suggest things, based on what WE would do, but the problem there is WE are not owner,gm, or HC.
I honestly believe if some of the fans were the owner gm, or HC they could do a better job of it.
I think I could do a better job of game mgmt than MM , and play calling , game plans.
But we as fans are stuck with the jones boys, they arent going to fire themselves , and unless the league forced them to sell the team, they arent going anywhere.

They over paid zeke, should have let him walk or franchised him a year or 2,same for jaylon, connor williams is a huge bust , smith is about done, and lael is big?
Lamb was a good player, but I wonder if he was the right pick at that point, maybe a good defensive player is what was needed more.
Basically the jones boys dont have a plan, each year they just ad lib it, and a team build needs a plan.
Jerry thinks zeke is best player on team, lol and jaylon is the cornerstone of the defense!
The plan should have been to sign dak 1st before zeke, jaylon, or amari, but the jones boys do it backwards.
What if GB signed a rb, wr, and a lb to top contracts, but didnt sign rodgers? No other team does things like the jones boys.

So in conclusion I guess it doesn't matter, because with the 4 stooges, dak or no dak, trevor or no trevor, the cowboys are gonna be cowboy losers.

Dak is a better QB than Andy Dalton, but paying 40 million for someone like Dak is absolutely ridiculous and I don't understand. Good guy, but he doesn't push the needle. Even if dak is the answer, he's NEVER winning anything with jerry.

Sign a QB in draft. Trade dak to NE for picks. Or at least dont pay him 40 million. 28 million TOPS

Pretty obvious after this season he's worth more than $40M.

What a unique, original post. I've never seen this take, and its never been discussed 400 other times on this very board. Yeah I clicked on it, but I thought there might be more substance. I was wrong.
I know, right? Clock into a thread, just knowing the OP has some new ideas to present, otherwise there's no way he'd start a thread just reiterating the same ol' stuff, right?
