He'll the starting left tackle week 1.

We have the worst defense in the NFL. We dont have any cap space. We need to sign Dak. We dont have the luxury of replacing Tyron.

Dead on. Dallas needs to stop ignoring the defense with reclamation projects, Aldon Smith, and draft reaches with Jaylon Smith and start using high draft capital and multiple picks.

What to do with Tyron Smith? Do we look for a replacement in free agency or do we draft one? His time may have ran out in the NFL as he has been unavailable and oft injured the last few years.
I don’t think so
I think he has a few more years
But I also think we slide Collins to left tackle and Steele at right if he has issues next year
Collins has the quickness to play the left side

I would love sewell.
I think he’s the best player in the draft
But I don’t think he will be there at 4-5 when we pick
Even though I don’t think smith is done I’d still take Sewell if he was on the board
To me the draft is not about just filling needs but adding talent. We didn’t need a WR last year but we did lose our slot guy. But most importantly Lamd was too good to pass up. If he’s there Sewell is the same

if sewell is on the board....there is our future replacement.
take him.
play him inside...with a healthy Tyron...La'el and Zack with Biadasz at C...thats an awesome looking oline.
if Tyron has a sudden retirement...or if La'el's hip is career threatening...Sewell takes that spot.

if Sewell is off the board...i draft Parsons and take a guy like Tommy Doyle of Miami,Oh...or Iowa's Alaric Jackson later and let them groom behind the HOF'R.
I’d put Collins inside myself but either works
I don’t think Sewell will be there and if he’s not I’d jump all over parsons
Instantly improve the run defense and he’d be the best cover LB on the team

You’re likely going to see the draft to

Jets ... Lawrence
Jags ... Fields
Bengals ... Sewell

So a trade down would be ideal
Bengals just took Jonah Williams last draft for LT. They'll not take another LT w/ the 3rd overall pick.

More like the elephant at the circus.

To be sure he'll be here next year as I believe they just restructured him again, but after that...
I wouldn't mind getting his replacement ready.

The bengals still need about 4 other offensive lineman. Their fan base will revolt if they pass on Sewell if he is available for their pick...especially with how burrow went down.
Talk about storming the castle...

Since they're set at both T spots, it'd be sorta strange.

Disagree completely. Bobby hart is pretty average, Jonah Williams is constantly banged up, plus you can move a T to G pretty easily, it’s actually an easier transition for most olineman. I’d assume if the cowboys took Sewell they would move him to LG for his first year as well.

About the only player compatible to Smith skill wise is Terron Armstead. He’s missed just as much if not more than Smith. In fact I don’t believe he’s ever played a 16 game season, yet you never hear saints fans talk about moving along. The purpose of his surgery was to prolong his career. As long as he’s dominant when on the field, with his contract they will continue to retain him.

Very big win if we get him back healthy. I wouldn't give up on him.

Our OL is not the elephant in the room, they are the entire circus in the room. We have sooooo many issues up front and will likely count on Zach, Smith and Collins to all come back healthy, only to be back at where we are now a few weeks into the season.

Tyron is far from an aging, fading player. He has played at or near Pro Bowl level and is just 29.

The key is: was his recent surgery a success. Prior to this Tyron had 4 consecutive years where he played 13 games. Guess what? Look at tackles around the league! Few of them are out there playing 16 games a season.

Many, many NFL o-lineman have missed chunks of this season, or gone out for the year.
ITS THE MILEAGE, NOT his age that concerns me.

Does your tv refuse to show the Cowboys defense??

After watching a defense that couldnt stop my 84 year old mother you still want to concentrate on protecting the QB :huh:
I never said defense isn't a top priority. OBVIOUSLY that is a massive issue. But if we cannot protect Dak from the blindside, that is also a massive issue. Tyron has a ton of miles on those tires and has broken down often. How foolish would it be to ignore that?

that is what scares me. To continue to count on a guy who has seen better days is a mistake.
We are talking about the Joneses man. The house is burning down and they are sitting in the living room drinking Johnny Walker Blue. We all know it is time for a rebuild but they disagree.

I posted last year Tyrons health needed to be addressed and was scoffed at . What I predicted, unfortunately, came to pass and he leaves us in the same situation that Tony did . Tyron came into the league as one of the youngest players and is just wore out now leaving us vulnerable at this position every year .
Its tough to face but we need a reliable LT through draft of FA the time has come. Ignoring it and hoping he will stay healthy is like hoping Tonys back would get better wishful thinking .

The NFL puts strains on a body that cant be hidden or worked around at his position . He is responsible for neutralizing every teams best player on defense every week . Just cant do that with continuing compromised health issues
