So......getting a high draft pick was the goal and a division title and a playoff berth is the consolation prize?

Call it absurd but the Cowboys didn't just win three in a row...they steadily improved and are now peaking at precisely the right time.

If Dallas was beating good teams,I would have to agree with you, but the fact of the matter is that we are just beating the same crap teams we beat with Dakota at Qb

These wins haven’t proved a single thing other than proving that we don’t need to pay Rayne 35-40 million a year to beat pathetic teams....we can do it with a 3 million dollar Qb just as easily

I was also rooting for the premium pick..., but the .500 team continues. If the defense wasn’t so so bad, I would have looked forward to the wins, but I won’t fall for it.

It’s going to be so hard to ever break from mediocrity but as you can see in this thread there are fans that have absolutely no problem being stuck in the middle.

Less of a chance to get an impact defensive player in an already weak draft .
Surtain, Farley and Parsons go bye bye now.
Might as well start looking at Kyle Pitts now.

It would be ideal givin our record to examine the mistakes from the losses, rectify the defence and add goals and objectives for the team that are better than those we tried to attain this season.
Equally we should draft based on whats is needed and regardless of the order if this team has a culture / togetherness and a set of coaches with values and methods that work on the field then it could be pick 55 coming into a well oiled machine.
It is not a well oiled machine atm but MM first season was always going to be work in progress and progress as of late has been on the up.
For the last 25 years we have been drifting, a nearly team, lets try to see if we can get there and stop drifting as we have done.

Do you really think going up the draft order will solve the problems... really

I take more pleasure in the pain and suffering experienced by team tank than I can ever adequately express in words. It’s even better than the wins themselves, which are great in their own right.

I am OK with winning now. They need momentum and the players/coaches need to start believing in each other for the future. However, I still do not want to win the division so I hope Washington takes care of business, even if we beat NYG.

If we finish 7-9 and miss the playoffs, we could still have the 13th-15th pick, which isn't terrible at this point. If we win the division, we will get the 19th pick and a wildcard beatdown by the Bucs...which would be the worst outcome.

In the draft range where we could be at, it is actually pretty ideal because now you don't feel guilty about reaching for any prospect.

I'm not a team tank guy but if we lose a close one to NYG and WFT takes care of biz, I think that is the best outcome for the team with Dak next year.

Unfortunately I think the sheagles will tank against the WFT.

They currently have the 6th pick.

Relax. DAL is the one team with some really solid trade options.
Cooper is a 2nd round, maybe even a late 1st. Dak is a 2nd, 3rd round pick. And Zeke is a 4th round pick. So if DAL wanted to move up, they can. They need to trade away these albatross contracts and then package these picks in some variety and move up.
Or trade the players themselves to a team(s) to move up.
DAL has an entire starting offense without all of these players. You saw it today.

Dalton
Gallup
Lamb
Schultz
Pollard

Trade the 3 bankruptcy contracts, free up space, move up get a QB to groom behind Dalton for a year.

Dumb post of the day. I am sure there were others but I did. not see them.

I don’t call beating 3 teams with a losing record steadily improving. This is really no surprise, we had one of the easiest schedules in the league and even about 6-8 weeks ago we had the easiest schedule by far compared to the other teams in this historically bad division.

Regardless, my Super Bowl bet is still alive!

Think about how many years teams like Cleveland, Miami, Cincinnati, and Washington have picked high. Did that propel them to the Super Bowl? Picking high doesn't necessarily mean you'll be better the next year. Losing can be a culture....just like winning.

Hate the eaglesredskinsgiants, so glad that we won the eagles will take it out on the Commanders next week. Once we get into the playoffs it’s a new season and this team has finally started to finally understand the defense it will continue into the postseason and whatever happens there it will carry into the OTAs, mini camps, training camp and into next season.

Bingo

The same teams pick at the very top of the draft damn near every year for a reason.

We didn't lose anything. Weakest defensive draft in years. IMO. No Deions. No Donalds. No Ray Lewis type players. No Reed or Troy P's at safety.
