Would you pick up LVE 5th year option?

No. If he sustains an injury in the 4th year and isn't medically cleared before the start of his 5th year his tender is fully guaranteed

If he doesn't play this week, he would have played in 30 games out of possible 48. That's little over 60%. I don't think you want a rely on a guy that has been only available 60% of the time.
His play has regressed this year also.

Dudes expose themselves hating on Jaylon every week but believe in LVE. they both have been bad past TWO years.

I skimmed through all the posts and didnt see when the decision has to be made by...

If it's this offseason you probably have to do it.

If its after next season that's a long way off, and much can happen to affect several things.

It's this offseason..... but not sure if it's April or May

As a former first-rounder, Vander Esch has a fifth-year option in his rookie contract available for the Cowboys to pick up next offseason. If they do so, it will extend the linebacker’s current rookie deal through 2022. But despite his past Pro Bowl-worthy performance, his rash of injuries since muddies that decision.

A couple years ago this would've been a no-brainer. Now I'm leaning towards no. Too injury-prone.
Reminds me of the Byron situation. I remember most on this board were upset that we picked up his 5th year option then he became an all pro. I say no. Two out of three years he has been hurt. If he plays well next season we can still sign him cheap because of his injury history.
