We need to do what Miami did. They went from one of the worst teams in the league to a playoff contending team had the AFC not been so packed. Blow it all up. Offense, defense, and coaching. Of course, you need a mastermind like Flores, but if we had a smart GM, it wouldn’t be so hard to find someone with his mindset.
Or how about use the Colts strategy. They just had 46M against the cap at QB paying both Rivers and Brissett. I wonder how they managed to field a top defense. I thought it was impossible when the QB takes so much cap.

Cavenaugh is full of it.

Here are the point totals in our losses over the last two seasons.
As you can see. In the 18 losses, the offense lit it up (scored over 30) 2 times.
We actually scored 10 or less points 3 times in both years (6 total)

very interesting and blows up narratives..sure we are better on the offensive side but they are as much at fault for some of the losing seasons as the defense not only couldn't they score on better teams, they were responsible for turnovers which led to short fields put on the shoulders of our defense..

its been team issues from all 3 phases and coaching that have stopped progress the last few seasons..

* Hahaha, yeah, but it's pretty obvious that the high luster full gloss factory finish embossed stamp seal of approval into country club Team Cowboys ain't one of those determining suckage factors being scrutinized ,huh?o_O

Pathetic. But hey, it's all Dak's fault!!

That means your defense is the issue. Not you QB (Prescott), RB (Elliott), OL (Fredricks, Smith, Collins, etc.), WR (Cooper), TE (Jarwin), etc. Your defense can not stop opponents from scoring less than 20 points.

So go draft another WR.

Marinelli was a horrible influence in the draft room. Hopefully without his input we make better selections. I like the guys we drafted last, and hope we go very heavy on that side of the ball this time around.

I like diggs. Gallimore was ok and I hope he improves. You are correct that marinello tainted the draft process especially guys along the dline.

That is sort of the point though. If your offense needs to score 30 to win you are not going to win. Period. The thing you are not grasping is that both the Cowboys and Chiefs offense failed to score 30 16 times over the past 2 years (as in both of them failed to do this). Would you say the Chiefs have a problem on offense? Of course not because everyone knows you cannot score 30 every single week. If you expect that then you are going to be stuck at 7-9 or 8-8.
But that point is inaccurate.
In the 8 losses last year we averaged 17-18 points...and averaged less points than the league average vs those opponents.
And that has been the trend every year since 2016.

Of course, the D is worse than the offense.
But it's clear that generally, in games that we lose, the offense is at least as culpable.

I mean of course in the games in which they average less than 30 they are averaging less than the league average. If I took out all of the best half of your games in your average and then build a new average based on the remaining numbers it SHOULD be lower than the rest of the league. That is just common sense. I do not understand your point here because it seems like little more than "If I take away all of the good numbers the remaining numbers are not very good" and maybe I am misunderstanding your point but I cannot see what it is beyond that.
