It’s not his job to make the owners accountable. They are his boss.
it works both ways. Have you not seen the hammer Goodell brings down on certain teams. I dont think it works in reverse. I think both sides are equally in need of reform.

Goodell deserves much credit for not only steering the league thru this seasons pandemic but really the most difficult era Id argue in NFL history as it continue to transcend with the times including all of the issues it’s confronted with in society.

I know he’s received criticism for his disciplinary actions of players but that’s a critical part of the success he’s been able to achieve overcoming theses social unrest the league and its players have encountered which has divided some of our fans as they have walked away as a result.

But he’s stayed the course protecting the Iconic label and its owners interest. And every decision in the long run appears the right decision for the league.

But the way he handled this pandemic with strict guidelines fining HC’s for not wearing mask initially and the protocols to avoid not cancelling any games which no other league can claim is truly remarkable.

He’s going to be an early lock for HOF. And history is going to reflect generously on him perhaps before he’s done surpassing Rozelle as greatest Commish ever.

Yea, I said it here first.

I disagree with your portrayal of the "good job" he's done dealing with the virus. He has destroyed the league and overreacted over a virus that is 99.9 % survivable by most persons that attend or play the games. I know he is just responding to what the authorities are telling him but they have overreacted too.

If you have an issue with Goodell then you have an issue with who employs him. The NFL owners.

FAIR STATEMENT and I have never disagreed with this. It starts at the top though. The head of the snake is the Comish. Paul Tags took heat but in comparison to this guy, he was great. Paul never forgot about fans. For all his faults, he knew that was important.

That's a crock. Look at how many fans had a problem with Garrett and he was around for 10 years, so to say that if anyone has a problem with goodell also has a problem with the owners isn't necessarily true.

Yes I have.

You obviously don’t know my history. Which is surprising for someone who’s claimed to have followed me all of these years on both forum sites.

And Jethro is the only NFL owner who risked his personal wealth in buying a team.

why would I know your personal history? LOL

Your posting history is well known.

Owners didnt get to where they are without lots of risk and hard work. They deserve everything they get and a lot of people depend on them for jobs and lively hood. Its people like that that are the heartbeat of the economy and capitalism. Not some spoiled little brat players that think they don't get paid enough.

The owners empower him to do as such. Can we even imagine what it would look like without disciplinary action.

You've got to be kidding, Greg???

Are you serious?

This guy has been THE WORST commissioner BY FAR in the history of the NFL.

I could name all the bad he has done, but some involves disgraceful political decisions that are not allowed to be discussed in here.

This guy is a joke!
I’m very serious. History is going to be more than favorable on how Roger has steered the league thru some of its most polarizing issues.

he gets too selective with his actions. He doesnt use equal judgments . I hate that about him. I think he needs to back off and YES I could imagine a better league without his dictator-like "disciplinary" crap.

Goodell is reactionary, unprincipled, arbitrary, and lacks vision.

The only reason the NFL handled COVID well is because its season starts in the fall and enjoyed over 6 months of watching others before starting.

You attribute success with no basis. His discipline policy has been a trainwreck. Dude doesn't hold a candle to even Tagliabue.
History is going to be very favorable on how Goodell steered the league thru it’s most challenging issues.

As a friend Ive already advised you to just stop,,, but now you insist on digging an even deeper hole.
You will never win this.

The Commish doesn’t have more power than the owners who can remove him at any time.

Fans are too emotional about their players. The league must have someone who places the interest above all else.

And for Garrett, that’s on our ownership for him being around so long. And in the end when it was blatantly obvious to almost everyone he needed to go , even those who supported Garrett, Jethro still held on to the end looking for a way to retain him.

I understand this much, he is no Pete Rozelle and never will be. He's a charlatan. The handful of owners that empower him are also to blame...ie JERRY. Goodell is replaceable. You his agent btw?
