I am not convinced Dalton will be elsewhere. I think Texas is home to him . I've seen a few headlines about maybe in Denver but well see. I see both of them here next year

So far nothing on Dalton.
Why do I have a feeling he is staying in Dallas?
Get ready for a big surprise.......:omg:

bro, Dalton will go where he can start.
well see if the money right for both parties I can see that happening but not convinced. This is a good QB for drafts and there about 8 teams that could feasibly go QB
Jacksonville
jets
49ers (maybe) is Andy better than jimmy J
broncos is Andy better than drew Lock
Commanders
Panthers
Patriots (maybe)

You also have Cam newton out there floating around. I just am not sure that Andy is going to be a sought after commodity but I could be wrong. If he remains a back up hell remain here

As a back up yes I do. But in the unlikely event that they dont get something figured out with Dak I can see the cowboys setting up an insurance plan. But Daltons garbage he can hold the fort for a few games but isn't the long term answer.

One thing about Dalton and QB's, it's feast or famine or your wouldn't have Fitzpatrick going for the record for most teams. Dalton isn't a great or even very good QB but he is good enough for at least 25% of the teams at any given time.

There are two different kind of backups. Those meant to come in to finish a game and those meant to finish a season. He's the former to me.

He is not the answer to anything except finishing out a game. He is not a replacement QB.

if i really wanted to stay here for my career...i'd go to vegas and make trouble.
then i'd hold out.
that seems to be the only way to get an extension round the ranch.

if i'm the f/o i extend Dak.
if i can't then no way do i pass up a QB at 10...unless i can swing the trade for russell wilson.
if the QBs i like are gone at 10....i grab one in the 2nd or 3rd if the board aligns that way.
i would want to come out of the draft with a QB...but w/out forcing it.

Dak will sign the tag. And he’ll play. Which will give the Cowboys a year to come up with another plan. And Dak another year to prove his value. But the career in Dallas is over in 2021.

I do not underestimate the effect of public opinion in DFW and the sports world and I don't think Booger does either. He is well aware he was the bad guy last season and he remembers all too well the death threats about Emmitt that he and the DFW police took seriously. Now ask yourself this. More nuts around now than in 1993?
No cause we were defending champs . It’s a different mindset. We aren’t sure Dak is championship caliber. We were of Emmitt.

LOL you're gonna need counseling when they sign him. Are you gonna find a new place to troll then? Or are you just going to continue your trolling in the game thread etc? You're a good troll though I get a kick out of you.

I think Dak can play himself into the contract he’s looking for on another team .

Our Football Idiots are too wish washy swaying whichever way the public perception winds blows.

I hope Dak takes us to a championship and flips off Jethro and Son on the way out the door. Lol

He will be more sought after than a broke, busted, can’t be trusted Cam who averaged about 100 yards passing a game.

You have a lot more faith in the lunacy of our society than I do.
You never know of course . But I don’t think it’s the same as Emmitt.

We are a 6-10, 8-8 type team now . Even with Dak. Not reigning SB Champs. That’s a huge difference.

That said , the general buzz I’m hearing locally is we should sign Dak . And I seriously thought we would . But the closer we get the less likely it is.

The national vibe is often different than locally. Here , Jerry will bashed regardless the decision he makes. Lol

That’s the good news . Most I’m close to felt we should have signed him in 2018 before his contract expired like most of the better QB’s are being handled.

Jerry has followed public perception though and it’s looking like it’s going to cost him I think cause Dak isn’t messing around. He’s standing firm . He knows he can get a deal elsewhere next year . It might not be 4o mil a year but it will be close. The cap will rise again in 2022.

I think Jer and cheapskate son think they can ride the tag one more year and if he has a big year then public perception will support signing him to a big contract. But by then Dak will have soured of staying in Dallas. And he can write his ticket anywhere .

Unless there is a medical reason for him not to be there, he better have his arse there. Training Camp is not just about drills and practice. There is a lot of instruction that takes place as well. Putting in Offense, packages, lots of stuff that a player can benefit from by just being there. No reason he should not be there if he's on the tag.

According to one report, he and his agent wanted tag verbiage out of the contract.

Makes you wonder with all the unhappy QB's wanting their way that he might just get pissed enough to not risk getting injured, especially on that ankle for just 37.7M, yep, I wrote JUST 37.7M. What a world pro sports has become, I am glad I've only got one left and college can give me my fix, if this gets to be too much.

Makes me wonder at what point do they hammer the money so hard that the sports loses it's luster as MLB and the NBA did for me years ago.
