Its funny and sad that the team is so inept at free agency that we are on the edge of our seats to see a guy who’s been a major injury bust get signed. I’m guilty of it too.

He had a medical today. Maybe it came back bad and the team doc said don’t sign him. We just don’t know.

Maybe he signs tomorrow.

It’s probably just the team checking on a once promising player who may or may not be worth trying to salvage. If his medical came back decent, they’ll probably try him this season.

I did love the player in that year’s draft... but I probably wouldn’t bother with him if it were up to me, but what do I know?

Two reasons likely Hooker didn't stay in Dallas. He either had two many injuries and medical told the FO that the risk of signing him was to high or he wanted at least a two year deal for way more money than the FO was going to consider. When you leave Jerry's den, there is no deal to be had.

Honestly......I hadn't paid attention to his resume until now. He's never played 16 games and has only 7 interceptions over 4 years. Just me, but sounds like we got sucker-punched by his agent and media, way too hype. Think about if he was that good and/or dependable certainly be more teams lining him up for visits. Not saying he's not legit, just a lot of hype for a player little or no skin on the wall.

I read that colts didnt really play him like he did at osu which was supposedly as the deep fs.

Malik Hooker

2017 = Torn ACL, MCL
2018 = Hip and foot injuries
2019 = Torn meniscus
2020 = Torn Achilles

....

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was his play? Are we sure his first name isn't really "Terron"?

The Cowboys allowed him to leave when they were disappointed that Hooker didn't move like this:

It's natural for us as fans to get excited when we see a potential new starter at a position of need visit; and then feel deflated when he doesn't sign.

If the Cowboys sign Malik Hooker, then great. But remember the Colts don't want him back for a reason. If Dallas doesn't get him, it's not like we're letting the next Darren Woodson walk out the door.

Yep

They better sign him. You cant go into the draft with Darian Thompson and Donovan Wilson as your free safeties. And dont even let them get the idea of bringing back Xavier Woods :scust:
I think they are done with him. We dont usually bring our own back this deep into FA. Those comments he made about taking plays off may be biting him hard now, as no one seems to have any interest
