If New York can win a Super Bowl (two of them) with Eli Manning, then it can win with Jones. It's all just a matter of the parts around him, especially the defense and running game, which played a huge part in the Giants' Super Bowl runs with Manning.

yeah, but Jones and Garrett?

no chance

zero

I agree to an extent....Eli wasn’t nearly as bad as Daniel Jones though.

Since when have the Giants had the "elite" quarterback? Tittle?

Based on their history they can do just fine with a mediocre to just better than average quarterback, so even if Jones isn't "all that", it may not hurt them...
What worked for them 15 years ago doesn’t necessarily mean it will work now. You still need a formidable team. They will not win this NFC East if Jones plays like he did last year. They just won’t.

True, but doesn't mean they have to do it consistently, there's always the possibility they could "catch fire" and win it all, seems other teams (Bucs, e.g.) can do that and we can't.

I do think a team can win a SB with a great defensive and not so great offensive team, which is how the Giants won their last 2 SBs. Would be hard to do, but not out of the realm of possibility...

If I'm remembering correctly.....Giants defense wasn't even good those years. They had a piss poor secondary and linebacker play. They were incredibly deep on defensive line though. Their defense was just like Eli. Not good overall but they made key plays when it mattered.

The Giants really had no business winning those Super Bowls. Nothing those teams did during the season pointed to them beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl. But they did.....

i fully expect the cowboys to finish third in the division and miss the playoffs the idiot and his son simply has no idea how to build a and improve a football team
I see a 2nd or 3rd place finish as well. It may cost MM AND Moore his job then enter Dan Q as the HC. the WFT and the Gents look like they have a plan and acted on it. We continue to do the same failed things in free agency. Our only hope is the draft and that guys like Anae and Robinson step up big. We have a long way to go.

I'm not gonna lie...I really thought last year we were gearing up to make a run....boy was I wrong. Went from thinking we were loading up to make a run to......hoping for losses to tank smh....
That could be on Jerry's headstone.

Or maybe just on the team's annual report.

Same here. I didn’t see 2020’s collapse coming. And certainly not getting next to nothing from virtually every free agent signing they made.

Worst of all, without those worthless wins to end the season, it would have been Dallas picking at #3. Or better yet getting that deal Miami just got.

This franchise is clueless.

I was never for tanking...but I sure as hell was for sitting Dalton and going with Gilbert or hell even Dinucci if it meant more losses.

There was nothing worth salvaging. We feel even worse about this team now than last year so I don't know what they really accomplished by throwing Dalton in there trying to win games that they weren't even good enough to win.

The one saving grace I thought was well they at least got their offensive line who were mostly backups some meaningful playing time and based on their offseason they must not even have faith in them.

I admit I was wrong on all accounts. Wish we had a higher pick to screw someone over with in a trade.

I think they’d even screwed up the offensive line by playing Looney even after Biadasz was healthy.

This organization has had such weird ways of handling rookies. Trust, I get not throwing a guy out there to the wolves but I just can't help but remember that in 2016 there was a time when Dak was behind Kellen Moore and battling with Jameil Showers. They see these guys at practice and decide that Donovan Wilson is not good enough to get on the field and Gallimore isn't good enough to get out there. It disturbs me these trends have continued regardless of who's the head coach. But Jerry doesn't strike me as a guy who doesn't want to throw the shiny new toy out there so I'm having a hard time believing he's the reason for this as well.....which leaves Stephen but hell I don't even know anymore.....

This team preaches going cheap in free agency, build with the draft and keep comp picks.....yet, you don't play your rookies.....it makes no sense. But somehow Terrence Steele made out there.

Yep, unfortunately last year was a failure of epic proportions (In my head anyway). Injuries, knuckleheads ...
I was totally part of the tank for Sewell crowd, and yeah - I dont feel like our FA haul this year was anything like we had last year. Last year it did feel like they were trying - it failed but it felt like they at least attempted to get better.
This year feels like they are just treading water.
Neal is pretty much the only move that makes me smile, and even then, they have moved positions on him ...
If they can somehow bring in KJ Wright, I would be a little more optimistic. But treading water is exactly what this feels like.
