If the Chiefs would’ve had a great TE they would’ve won the super bowl!!!!! Oh yea they did that’s right....but they’re OL sucked and they couldn’t protect Maholmes.

Hmm, the Chiefs have been AMC West champions 4 years in a row, played in back to back Superbowls winning 2019. They lost to a team with Gronk....this is your evidence that TE’s don’t matter?

Pitts
there would be no reason the offense couldnt put up 35 ppg none whatsoever even if you call a crap game with horrible playcalling

Sewell
your set on the offensive line if smith and collins come back to atleast 80 percent with Zack and Tyler

im taking Sewell

For the record.

I’m taking O-line, D-line or Quarterback with 75% of top 50 picks, and these are also the guys I’m paying in free agency. There are rare exceptions when there is a blinking light like Lamb at 17, but for the most part I’m addressing the trenches.

On the flip side I’m not drafting trench players outside the top 50 with the exception of 1T which I’m not drafting outside the top 100.

Pitts at 10 might be that rare exception but we’ve paid guys like Jaylon and Zeke, while drafting LVE, and trading for Cooper so we can’t really afford luxuries even when they presenting rediculous value. It almost had to be Sewell.

Pitts...but he will be the first non-QB off the board unless he fails a drug test or does something incredibly dumb before draft day.

The league is different now... it’s geared toward offense. I have no problem taking an offensive player again. Our problem is we need to hit on some of these later round defensive players and free agents.

There is 0 guarantee drafting any guy is going to work out. On either side of the ball. It’s a crapshoot

Doesn't matter how many weapons you have if your O line is weak. There simply won't be any time for the QB to get down the field or the RB will get hit as soon as he gets the ball.

Now if the choice was a legendary TE vs average O lineman, sure I'll go TE, but when both of these are supposed to be standout players, I'm going O lineman.

I can't believe all the Pitts fans.

We rarely stretch the field with the tight end and his function for the last 8-9 years has been to act as a safe dump-off guy. If we can't break one of our 3 great WR's or Jarwin or the great Ezekiel Elliott *cough* loose then what makes anybody think the gumbo is gonna be any better adding one more ingredient?

Winning football begins in the trenches on both sides of the ball. This team has weapons offensively. Do we want to sell tickets or win a championship? If you want a championship you better build good to great lines on both sides of the ball.

c'mon man !!!!!! Sewell the correct answer. But guaranteed they don't both fall. If Sewell falls that's the pick and if Pitts falls you take Surtain II.
The Pitts infatuation is relevant because his addition to this offense tips the scales in our favor vs coverage schemes, but the same can be said if that pick where to be Chase.
Im just talking immediate impact signings, just think about what a Cooper, Lamb Chase/Pitts lineup could do to any opposing defensive scheme.
You can only double up coverage on two, so one of Cooper, Lamb and Chase/Pitts is in single coverage, or they set in Nickle all day and you pound the rock.
So just explaining why I understand add that type of high end offensive weaponry is so attractive and appealing.
Having said that I would take Sewell easily if at 10.

It’s a good question. Personally I hope neither is there so Dallas can focus on defense. If I had to choose I would take Sewell. Pitts is a good looking prospect but he’d be like adding an extra slice of cheese on a grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich is going to taste good anyway, you don’t need the extra slice. You dig?

5 Qbs are g

Well imagine both OT's get hurt if you take PItts easy way to not get 35 ppg. Even if one, Everyone is worried if Zeke is on the field I see significant decline in Dak's game when Tyron isn't there.

While this scenario is somewhat implausible you would take Pitts as Seawell is at best going to be your starting Guard for at least 1-2 seasons and a G is not worth it more than a TE.
“At best” he becomes our pro bowl starting tackle for the next decade

At worst he starts 2/3 of tthe games this year (or more, because Lael and Tyron are no longer dependable and the games when both of them, by some miracle, are playing at the same time, he plays guard.

im on the Pitts hype train but Sewell fills a big need and is an amazing player worthy of a top five pick

Sewell hands down! He can have a big impact on the whole offense including the running game. Pitts is a great player but if you cant protect Dak than he doesnt do you any good. Dallas has enough weapons where Dak needs the protection.

There is no scenario where is he starts the year as anything other than the G or backup Tackle on the depth chart. Realistically, barring injury l, he won’t be starting at LT or RT for that matter. So you are effectively drafting a G over a generational talent.

Sewell for me.

Obviously in a vacuum, a healthy Smith > Sewelll and Pitts > Schultz/Jarwin
However, for weapons we have Cooper, Gallup, Lamb, Schultz, Jarwin, Wilson, Brown, Zeke, Pollard etc...

If Schultz were to get injured, the dropoff to Jarwin isn't much if any.
If Smith were to get injured, there is a dropoff from him to Knight/Steele/whoever on this roster currently.

Smith is also on the "wrong" side of 30 and has had injury concerns.
Sewell is 20 years old, similar to when Tyron came out of college.

I'm also of the belief good to great TE's can be found in day 2. Maybe not every draft, but history shows that teams can get a TE that can be a difference maker rounds 2-4, while most good+ LT's are taken in round 1.

Teams only trade for qbs, unless your the Cowboys, so can we please disregard the fantasy about trading down. Somehow if the 5th qb gets to ten we have a trade down clause. I hope I am so wrong and we can get more value, because we need more than one player. and we NEED for more then one player to be starters, for us to obtain SB status, I believe we need 3 full fledged starters out of this dratr. Make it happen and perfect circumstances we could entertain the thought.

Smith can't stay healthy any more with his lower back issues, you better protect your franchise QB's blindside, Sewell is the choice and it isn't a hard choice

Completely agree. If you are staring a franchise LT in the face you have to snatch him up.
