We have 10 picks, using the first on an All-World talent is fine. There isn’t a game changing defender this year, hence QB’s going 1,2,3&4

If Pitts is still in the board at ten, Jerry will not only show you how possible it is to draft him with that 10th pick. Gallup will soon be gone from the team and Cooper is getting older and has been injured often. Long term, drafting Pitts to play with Lamb as these other WRs leave , will be a much better pick for the long term than drafting some defensive player that has a ceiling of being a decent starter at best. It is very questionable if there is a defensive player that is worth the 10th pick in this draft. The best value for defensive players seems to be in the second and third rounds of the draft. Signing a couple of the FAs that you listed could have had an impact on improving the defense for the coming season, but very few rookie defensive players makes much of an impact in their rookie years and some struggle to make an impact in their second seasons as well. It is just a bad draft if a team is trying to draft several starters for their defense.

Passing on Pitts could easily be a repeat of passing of Moss and drafting Ellis. Actually the situations are very comparable.

If he's there at any point you trade whatever you have to go get him. Future HOF player for some defensive 2nd rate player makes no sense.

This is different. Lamb was filling a need. The team didn’t have a 3rd WR going into last years draft. This team now has two above average TEs and 3 very good WRs.

Chiasson wouldn’t have helped the D at all last year.
