I guess the coaches won over the scouts. Horn has ties to Quinn and McCarthy, so that wins out over the scouts who prefer Surtain, reportedly.

In ATL, Quinn drafted Trufant n Terrell and those guys are more like Horn oppose to Surtain.

Sidenote: when Horn gets to Dallas somebody please teach him how to tackle properly...I will for a fee of course.

It it is, it would pretty much sum up the last 25 Cowboys seasons.

Unless someone unexpected drops or we trade back thinking we’re picking Horn at 10. Think they want someone with attitude and better athlete than Surtain. Regardless I hope they trade 44 and a 3rd round pick to get back in late 1st early second to get another solid player that has dropped - ideally safety/lb or dt. Then with other 3rd I’m picking speed wr to play slot and be punt/kickoff man or solid ol guy.

Only we dont need a WR. Not by a long shot. You were doing great. What we need is like the DT Mcneil with that 3rd rounder.

Michael Gehlken has Dallas taking Horn. As does T. Archer.

While I doubted Dallas would take Horn over Surtain. I'm now starting to believe it.

Gehlken in particular has absolutely nailed everything Cowboys related this offseason.

Would you take fairly in the 3rd even if we draft Horn or surtain?

Surtain could go to Carolina or Denver so then Horn is the guy, we shall see if they are both available what they think.

With respect to links. McCarthy knows Horn’s dad and Quinn’s best friend was Horn’s college coach so they would have a very good understanding of him as a person. You don’t want to reward nepotism but they’d also have a really good understanding of the players character and that shouldn’t be ignored.

Putting that aside, as a player Surtain is statistically better but what the stats don’t tell you is that Horn almost always follows the biggest threat, and does not have the same level of support from his pass rush. I’d expect him to be a fair bit worse.

Surtain is a much better player. This whole thing is like deja vu of the Taco vs Watt fiasco.

The most important thing is that Horn is grabby as hell and way too aggressive. Thats character and i dont know many guys that got this outcoached if they already bring this.

The NFL is pass heavy in favor of the offense. We already have too many grabby flag waiting to happen Corners.

Surtain has the best technique and fundamentals of all corners ive seen in recent memory. He also had to go against Jaylen Waddle, Devonta Smith, Henry Ruggs etc. in practice every single day.
