Worst third round I ever witnessed and we should’ve took Slater in round 1 you never take a linebacker over a trench player

Hope most on here are wrong but with the capital we had at our exposure, was expecting to more aggressive and we have not. Looks like they are going to use all 11 picks. That was the time to be wheelin and dealen.

Ok so it's probably better than that as a whole and I'm just knee jerking but I am so frustrated with this draft it's unreal. I've NEVER been this mad over a draft not even when we passed on Stephen Jackson and way more than 2009. At least with 2009 you know it was probably going to suck before it started... This... I had hopes for this one.

"D"

Had all the ammo available to rule day 2 and got cute with tweeners and projects.

We really seem have a "throw some bodies" approach to the DL instead of securing legit talent and it drives me nuts.

Bingo.

Four picks on Day 2 and we come away with, blah.

If this forum hates the draft then it will probably be one of the best in cowboys history....that’s just how it goes.

Yeah, nope.

But keep thinking Jerry and co rule in roster building. 25 years and counting.

Can’t wait to see what we come up with our two 4th round picks.

"D" .....They picked players for scheme and reached doing so over talent and that's not the way you build a championship team IMO
If this his what we did, and you very well may be right, this would seem a deviation from the strategy we followed under McClay in years past. Maybe McCarthy/Quinn influence?

The only pick I’m truly scratching my head over is Nashon Wright. It’s seems to be universal among the draft prognosticators that this kid was a 7th round pick, maybe even an UDFA. Even so, I’ll defer to the FO given they have drafted pretty well for awhile now and given they put their draft board together after hopefully doing sound homework. One thing, as a fan for any long length of time should know, is that you stick to your board once the draft begins. Otherwise chaos can ensue. So for whatever reason they were super high on this kid. Even so, I’m scratching my head. Seems we could have gotten him later but I wasn’t in the war room.

I'm going with a C......only coz Parson and the fact they're at least addressing the defense, otherwise, it'll be a D. Now I admit I'm no expert and no little of nothing about days picks but NOT addressing the safety position with 4 picks in your pocket is baffling, to say the least. I can only conclude they either misread the value of the top 3 (Moehrig, Grant, Holland) or simply weren't as high on them as we were led to believe.
The reality of this draft so far is that it is the opposite last year. Last year CeeDee, Diggs, and Gallimore fell to us. This draft nobody fell to us. We all expected in the first round that one of the corners would fall to 10 because 4 quarterbacks would go in the top 10. I think when San Francisco passed on Mac Jones it started a chain reaction in a negative way for the Cowboys. I believe someone would have traded up for Lance in the top 10 or Carolina/Denver would have drafted him. I actually believe the Cowboys when they say they were targeting a cornerback in the second round but with Moehrig going a pick in front of us it just looks like Raiders jumped us similar to the Eagles with the tight end then we picked Conner. The Eagles did take our guy Milton Williams though.

I’m going to reserve my judgement until I see these guys take a snap in the NFL as we all should. There’s a reason we don’t work for the NFL in any capacity.
This can’t be stated strongly enough. So many thought Frederick was a bust before the kid even hit the field. Arguing that his arms were too short and we could have had him in the 19th round along with a basket of delicious fruit too and blah blah blah....

Frederick was only an all-pro beast and obviously worthy of the Cowboys’ FO grade on draft day.
We have to wait till they hit the field...

None of us have likely put in even 1% of the time the FO did putting their draft board together.

C- Standing pat and reaching for guys in round 3 was stupid, they needed to be more aggressive instead of grabbing camp fodder

Round 1 was great, after that hold your nose
