Tim Tebow gets signed after 8 years out of the league, but Colin Ka....

One turned down at least 2 NFL teams (Denver, Baltimore),
the CFL, the XFL and ditched an organized NFL tryout in front
over team officials from over 20 teams.

It's almost like he never really wanted to play, or something.

Tim Tebow's NFL hiatus is over.

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner will reportedly sign a one-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars with a chance to make the team as a tight end, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
*There was something on my local news about his return to the league at the tight end position,( he's on the cusp of being eligible for the leagues players benefits pension program doo-dad's after so many games this season)*

Ahhh a hater? No because the day he came into the league he was a target. Bashed constantly. Was he a pro QB in the right situation? I don’t know. I do know he won a playoff game. He was subject to scorn from all angles. People wanted the guy to fail. We all know why. Maybe don’t like him as a QB but you have to at least respect the guy. If you don’t you are a moron. This is just how I feel.
Well said/written. I was ecstatic when Tebow knocked Pittyburger out in the playoffs. :muttley:

I don't hate him at all. I think he's a good dude & shares my faith.

I just don't think he's a NFL player & I believe he is privileged is all.

Privileged like turning down $7 million a year from two teams to be a back up QB, turning down offers from other leagues and then no showing a workout for teams and still having people fawn over you?

privileged like getting a multi-million dollar book deal advocating for abolishing the police, despite having no expertise in the matter?

‘yeah, sure. It’s Tebow that’s privileged.

Is the circus in town? That’s a clown post.

Smart move. He's a good guy to have in the locker room to show the young guys what a work ethic looks like.

Yes sir on the work ethic. Tebo is like the Eveready Rabbit, he keeps going and going and going.....
Every time I think he's out of the picture, he comes back again.

Good for Tebow! I hope he finds success. His stubbornness for sticking with QB when asked to switch way back then is what kept him out of the league and it wasted most of his prime NFL years, but it was his decision. Playing him in the spread option was a detriment to his development and Fox's mistake, but I guess he felt forced by Elway since Elway told him to play Tebow. Tebow was kind of screwed by Fox but did himself no favors by refusing to switch positions to stay in the NFL.

That is hyperbole to the highest degree. He had a rabid fan base and extraordinary privilege as evidenced by the fact that he can get signed to a position he's never played after 8 years out of the leauge.

What he's had is a cult following that has nothing to do with his play on the field.
That's not privilege, that's connections to get the tryout. He actually impressed in the tryout and that is why he was signed.

You are trying to sell a false narrative!

I had a comment which would have clarified my thoughts on it, but it was deleted.

Amazing how a below average professional athlete has remained famous for all these years. I tip my hat to him.

One could mention some Cowboys players who somehow stayed on the team for years after they should have been tossed.
Other players in the NFL have gotten a lot of ink for doing rather little.
Now saying Tebow is below average is frankly your hatred clouding your judgement. The guy was a starting QB in the NFL for multiple games. THAT alone makes him somewhat above average.

If that's the standard for being above average then Ryan Leaf, Brandon Weedon, Anthony Wright and Clint Stoerner must all be considered "above average".
&
Do you really want to live in THAT world?

I wish Tebow all the luck in the world....but that's my feeling about almost all humanity.

I used to like you as a poster. Not anymore. Who knew Tim Tebow would unhinge you so much. Relax tough guy maybe you don’t need to respect him. That better?

It was a serious question. I don't understand how Tebow commands respect. He refused a position change even though it was obvious he was never going to be more than a circus type show at QB. What am I supposed to respect him for? I know you think I'm being sarcastic. I am not. Serious question.

The "like me as a poster" stuff is weird.
