A win is a win. I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty.

So, whether we look great or terrible week 1, as long as we get that W I'll be happy.

The Cowboys have a relatively easy early season schedule with the exception of this game. Most people have this as a big fat L.

So if Dallas does win the game, I expect they’ll start the season 6-0 or 5-1.

@Bucs
@Chargers
Eagles
Panthers
Giants
@Patriots

I do worry about the Chargers’ game since it’ll be tough to go from the east coast to the west coast to open the season like that.

It's week 1. It'll be sloppy as hell. I expect the better coached team to win. No Atlanta falcons special teams gift. Probably a blow out for the bucs as this defense will not magically improve. 35-10.

That will mean 19 more to go for the perfect season

It's just one game, win or lose. They have to put it in the rearview mirror and focus on the team waiting for them on the other coast the following week.

It will be a big regular season win. Other than that, it will not necessarily indicate this team’s season trajectory. It’s one game. Fans love to overreact to the season opener either way. This will be a 17 game war complete with highs and lows, difficulties and accomplishments. One game will not define the rest of the season. Win or lose opening night.

That is all true, but it sure would be a nice start.

I don't understand this. These are two of the shortest flight we will make all year. 1 hour and 58 minutes to TB, and 2 and a half hours to SD? Nobody in the NFC East is closer.

It depends on how we win and how we played to get there. Then it will depend on how we respond in the next game. And the next after that. If we start out 4-1, I'll be encouraged.
If we're scoring 60 points a game and the opposition is scoring 59, it won't matter.

Yes, and extra days rest before Chargers.

I do expect Chargers to be tough this year though.

You are leaving out the stop back in Dallas. Going from Tampa to San Diego via Dallas is 7 hours.

seems like many of you should make your bets now! Take the 6.5 points and see if it happens.
good chance they beat that spread.

They fly to TB on a Thursday and 10 days later they fly to SD. What makes it any more difficult than any other two consecutive road games?

Beating the champs is a statement no matter what week of the regular season it occurs in. A W would be a HUGE boost to team confidence and a shot of early season momentum.

A W does not mean a ton in terms of predictability on the trajectory of our season— but it would be the best possible outcome for week 1 for Dallas for sure.

Also— on a personal note— I would love to see us finally beat Tom Brady and wipe that smug, smirk off his face. He is the GOAT— and I respect him— but I would absolutely love to see him driven mercilessly into the turf over and over again in week one
Amen. Just once because it could be our last chance to play him .Dallas should have beaten him that last time. Yes I know Tampa is a better team than New England was at that time.However, The first game of the season, they will be big headed , perhaps over confident.They think Dallas is an unworthy opponent. Good! On any given Sunday............
