Never heard this term before . . what does "Pass Christian" mean?
Pass Christian, Miss. has a pass named after its discoverer, a Mr. Christian. But in old usage and archaic slang it means "you are one of us, and I will let you pass."

I'll be honest, I was actually happy the two DBs were taken and we went with Parsons as a result.

We’ve had talented linebackers before but never the d-line Washington has. If we had a dominant front four, our linebackers would destroy the league.

This organization drafted Parsons by accident. There was no master plan to grab this kid, none. They wanted one of the 2 top CB's and thought they could mess around and still get him.

I believe Ron Rivera & Washington were targeting Parsons as their draft pick but Jerry got a whiff of this early on and took on some of Rivera’s mentality about importance of defense.

Last time Rivera took a LB he was the best one in the league and this might come true for Dallas. The year before Rivera took Kuechly the Carolina defense was ranked 28th in league and the year after the draft it jumped to 10th.

If it wasn’t for Dallas, Parson would hav slipped all the way to Washington turning that defense into truly elite one.

I mean, unless there was a trade in the works Parsons was never going to last that long.

And quite frankly, using a draft pick that high because Rivera wanted the guy is dumb.

Your implication of East Texans is filled with misinformation and innuendo.
We ain't talked like none of that since the Great Depression!
You tain’t hered my in-laws talk. I didn’t know alfalfa was pronounced alfalthy or Rains County was Range County until I married the Child Bride 5 decades back.

They were supposedly going to take a cb if both weren’t drafted before them. Parsons was the best defensive guy on the board. I doubt Rivera had any decision with this. They needed defense and that’s what they did.

Jerry drafted average defensive players (Ware was a coach pick) They never drafted anyone that is a difference maker or truly elite.
Wasn't Ware more of a Jerry pick whereas if Parcells had his way he would have taken Spears at 11?

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure Jerry pushed for Ware in 2005.

That is false. Jerry over rode Parcells. Parcells would have drafted Spears over Ware.

I wouldn’t doubt it based on what Quinn was picking in Atlanta while riding the coat-tails of the LOB of Seattle to a HC job with the Falcons…
