Will we have a let down, or is this team different?

In years past, this team couldn't handle success and often faltered when they got to full of themselves and started to believe the hype.
This weeks game against Carolina would be one of those type games where the team would lay an egg and lose to an inferior opponent.
It's a small sample size but this team seems to have a different mentality and won't allow themselves to play down a level.
We have plenty of "DOGS" on this roster who's killer mentality permeates throughout the team and raises the level of play and desire of others.

Right there with ya. Been down this road many of times. While the excitement is obvious it’s still a wait and see approach for me.

I don't see it as them getting full of themselves.
It was more they never knew how to handle winning. They never had someone to help control it. Now with MM having won a SB, and Quinn that should have won a SB.
They have someone to teach them how to win and how to handle it.

at some point I think we will hit the proverbial bump in the road and this team will have to get past it and come back out ready to play. There are going to be challenges this team will face especially on defense. Thus far we have faced 3 teams all looking to throw the ball, none committed to the run. I think we will see teams coming in looking to challenge the Cowboys run defense and Quinn and these players will need to stand up to those challenge. Right now I love the confidence this group is showing and how many players are making an impact but yeah I expect some rough patches that this team will need to overcome.

That's where MM comes in....the keyboard coaches don't think he does anything, but this is one of the biggest responsibilities of a HC. Keep them grounded and focused.

We are a potent Offense with a young descent Defense that’s getting good and confident. And a ST with a kicker that scares me. The Defense turns the corner and keeps improving and the kicker gets it or we get a new one and we are very very hard to beat. Still early but teams don’t look forward to playing us.

When your best players are your hardest working players good things happen. With Parsons and Diggs on defense everyone is held accountable. Unlike last year when it was up to clowns like Xavier Woods and D Flaw. Then you throw in the seasoned vets like Griffin and Poe. Good lord no wonder we were dog turd.

They look like a team poised for a hefty win streak. I say they eclipse double digit wins before dropping one.

we arent going to win every game going forward so if you are let down thats on you..there will be bumps along the eay..ebs and flow of every season..in the end have enough wins to get the playoffs..thats the goal hopefully enough to win homefield and bye even better but goal one make the playoffs..

9-10 wins is expected..

if we go 9-8 8-9 thats the let down not losing game we should win because im betting we win few we are supposed to win..

that said i will be let down this week more then any other week because this will be the 4th game at ATT ill be attending and we lost the other 3!! maybe its me but we better win this one only because ill be there..

There are 32 teams in the league.
Of the 32 teams, 14 will make the playoffs, leaving 18 "let down" at the end of the regular season.
8 Teams will make the Divisional playoff round, leaving 6 teams "let down" that they couldn't get past the wild card.
4 Teams will make the champtionship round, leaving 4 teams "led down" the round before.
2 Teams will make the SuperBowl, leaving 2 teams "let down" from the Championship.
The Super Bowl Loser will be Let Down, leaving 31 teams disappointed.

The fact is that any given year and in given any number of circumstances, there are probably around 6-8 teams who are could probably make a run/get hot or just have some nice plays go their way and win. You may be a 'catch' or fumble away from the Conference game, or a missed PI away from making the superbowl. That's always going to leave a bad taste in your mouth.

For me, I expect this team to make the Divisional Playoff round with this talent level and schedule. I think they are that good. From there, it's a matter of health, a few key plays, maybe some calls and luck. After that I've gathered my enjoyment of the season and hope that the strategy serves us well the following year (for instance - I was really happy with the team in 2018, but was bitterly disappointed in their approach to the 2019 offseason. They thought the defense was up and coming and I disagreed very much so).

Let's just say, the Boys Are Back. After this weeks win against Carolina, future opponents will be scared, VERY scared. If KC can be 1-2 why can't the Boys be 2-1?!

This team is definitely different.

Does anyone see Micah Parsons slacking off?

How about Trevon Diggs?

How about Dak, Zeke or Pollard?

How about Schultz, CeeDee or Amari?

How about Gregory, Odighizuwa and our Dline?

How about our Oline?

How about our free agent D-secondary or our LBS?

No way! No way!!

This team has a dog in them. They are built to smell blood and attack. They love it. They look for it. They create a feast like a group of hungry predators. No way do they have the Garrett traits of old of slacking off. Those Cabo ways are over!

I agree. One difference is now especially talking about defense and guys making plays it is not just 1 guy people are talking about. It is Diggs, It is Parson, it is Oas, it is Kearse it is a number of players stepping up and making plays. This defense is not centered around 1 guy making plays it is a lot of guys making plays.

It won't be like the Eagles game. I don't think we steam roll them. I'd be surprised if we do. I wouldn't be surprise with a close win or a close loss. Hopefully our idiot kicker or coach for that matter doesn't cost us a game with a screw up kick or game management decision. Those two things are an actual worry for games that are close against good teams. We'll see.

This team is different

even if they lose(bucs) or play a sloppy game(chargers) its a different mentality that says we fight until the game is over

Inferior opponent? Maybe without CMC. Panthers are not a pushover. Home field will help.
