Let me rephrase. We had most of our front 7 in the game, which is where the run defense is based on. Diggs and Kearse don't factor as much into this. If they are the ones having to make the tackles, then the front 7 did not do their jobs. We will see if Parsons makes a huge difference against SF's run game.

Defense bailed us out against the poor teams, which will not be in the playoffs. They made absolutely no plays against the Raiders and Cardinals when we needed them, too. If one of those were a win, we could be the 2 seed.

The blueprint will be to score and make a few stops and making SF play from behind with Jimmy G having to make plays. He will absolutely give you some chances for turnovers when he has to do this.

Gallimore will make a difference as well. Yes I think Parsons is a huge difference maker and I would also think Kearse makes a difference being a big, physical safety.

I believe alot of the wind was taken out of Niners sail in that hard fought overtime game with the Rams on Sunday. We are a very good team this season. Coach Dan Quinn has made a huge impact on this squad that will continue going forward.

Cowboys all the way! :star:

Anyone who voted no is either a Niners fan or shouldn't be on the boards lol. It's the playoffs guys, your answer should be yes no matter what the chances really are. :D

They aren't too bad though. And if we really lose, the naysayers can't say "told you so". It's Superbowl or bust. In that case we had no business in the play offs anyway. So that's a big fat "yeah baby".

SF has a strong run game and we have a shaky run defense. If we have trouble stopping the run, that means we need our offense to be in tip top condition. If our passing game is intact as it's capable of doing, SF will have go to the air to keep up. I give the Cowboys a 60-40 chance of winning game 1 with SF.
Bottom line, if Dak is on target, we win!

we can win if we play physical the whole game.one advantage is that we have a decent DLine rotation going and we can keep guys reasonably fresh. Everything can derail if we have one of our typical slow starts and the niners run it down our throats.

Win or lose wouldn’t surprise me one bit. I voted no because I think their run game, and our lack thereof, will be our undoing.
You should looks at the stats.

This season, the 49ers rushed 2,166 yards, 47 more than Dallas' 2,119. How does that make their running game superior and ours lacking?

Been a fan since the Meredith days. But the Boys are a major underdog in my mind. We don’t run well, and we have trouble stopping the run. They run well and stop the run well. That’s a recipe for disaster. They can dictate the game with their running game, and also have a really good wide receiver and tight end when needed. Their QB will not need to win the game, just manage it so I am not expecting him to be a turnover machine. On the other hand, without a sustained running game, we will be one dimensional and Dak will have to win the game. Our oline has issues protecting Dak and opening holes. And their OC and offensive scheme are far superior to KM and his Garrett scheme. Throw in our inconsistent kicker and game management issues, and it’s a tall order. We could win, but all our pieces have to play better than than they have been. This is not the WFT, Giants, or Eagles this time.

I would like for them to prove me wrong, but Dallas has very little chance of winning based on their recent history against the better teams in the league. If I was a betting man, I would need some good odds to bet on the Cowboys.

You should watch the games.

Over half of the Cowboys’ rushing yards came in the first 6 games and the final game against the Eagles backups. The 49ers have been far better running the ball than us in recent weeks.

The more interesting question is, will the Cowboys defeat the Cowboys in the wildcard round? Because if not, the Niners won't be able either. ;)
